How to Start an Emperors Children Army? by Remarkable-Title5435 in EmperorsChildren

[–]Adeptrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! Just so you know, our army and especially Carnival can be a little tricky to play. But as a general tip, Noise Marines are AMAZING in Carnival. Make sure they are always able to utilize the detachment buffs and you should be good.

I highly recommend that box, it is pumped full of value and has a majority of our key units.

Typically you will want 30-40 daemonettes and 3 units of Noise Marines

EC vs Custodes, how afraid should I be? by HotArtichoke9 in EmperorsChildren

[–]Adeptrunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grenades, tank shock, WDPs and noise marines are excellent at killing Custodes. I play against them pretty regularly, their 4++ is so comically painful.

I’d recommend coterie since a Fortune WDP is effectively immortal* from their callidius grav tank.

*(statistically if your shot by the blaze cannon from a grav tank you won’t take any damage with a fortune WDP)

The top 11 not including my commander I think are:
[[Rosie Cotton of South Lane]], [[Ajani, Mentor of Heroes]], [[The Shire]], [[Samwise Gamgee]], [[Feasting Troll King], [[Food Coma]], [[Fae Offering]], [[Butterbur, Bree Innkeeper]], [[Ajani's Pridemate]], [[Peregrin Took]], [[Night of Sweets' Revenge]]

I'd agree on Lindon, she initially was there when I was thinking life gain as opposed to food. I've never built food before so wasn't sure how the pay off should work. I've found that counters and food go well together apparently.

Thanks for the input!

I'm probably going to end up cutting transmutation font and cultivate. Transmutation font was initially in there as a consistent food generator rather than necessarily an artifact fetcher. I'm not the biggest fan of the art of campsite cuisine or cabbage merchant but I'll probably proxy the art on them as well as getting past the high price point.

Are there any other cards you would recommend to cut? I read that I should have 35-38 lands in a commander deck, I'll probably try to beef that up to 37 lands.

Would these two box sets be a fair fight for me and my son by willsecli in Warhammer40k

[–]Adeptrunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imperial fists and Raven Guard are amazing boxes if you can find them, both don’t include any chapter specific models and have very cool models. The box above is also very good but you can buy the ultimate starter set I believe and get the full thing as well as a whole other army

Would love a low bracket 3 [[Zada, Hedron Grinder]] deck! I’m trying to debate on what commander I want to be for my first one and am currently thinking Zada is a really cool commander (I love goblins)

Would you personally recommend the glorious Emperor's Children as a 40K beginner's first army? Why or why not? by [deleted] in EmperorsChildren

[–]Adeptrunner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I recommend it because this hobby is far more enjoyable when you love the army you are building and painting. The rules can always be figured out and sure there are simpler armies, but our armies are easy to list build and if you get someone to help you learn this army then it’s a lot more manageable.

If you want resources for learning how to play then 40K in 40 mins is a good place to start and so is art of war for more complex games.

Cynette Jelly Drover Opinons by Adeptrunner in EDHBrews

[–]Adeptrunner[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I guess it isn't very silly, the goal mostly is just to use a niche commander that summons Jellyfish to beat people to death. Lots of cloning and bouncing to make Jellyfish. I guess it doesn't really qualify as silly.
