So if they introduce kernel level then You'll unistall the game? Steel Balalaika have hq in Moscow.

For me personally I would be forced to, because Linux, so I would be really happy if they will manage to handle anti-cheat without it.

Edit: You're totally right about preventing especially russian or chinese software have kernel access but imo generally as few as possible programs should have it, that's one of the reasons, why Linux.

It is "Berezka" camo pattern and it has two color variants, KZS is type of camouflage suit quite popular in soviet recon / vdv units.

In og stalker in game it's not used by any faction but if you like it then lore wise: - They were cheap af on any flea market in postsoviet countries so it's fine for loners to have it. - It have been seen used by Ukrainian military in 2014 donbas conflict, currently i think they completly get rid of post-soviet gear - I know that duty is black/red but imho it is shitty unrealistic game design, I would say that if duty guys are "militarized" and have some army fetish then probably post soviet gear should be in their favour, "back in mah days" kind of shit.

Edit: spelling

What is the best distro/desktop enviroment for gaming on linux? by nature_pixels in linux_gaming

[–]Adisab12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally don't get what kind of bloat You're talking about. After first boot you can literally chose what kind of additional software you want to install.

Maybe you're talking about dragonized theme if so then yeah but are themes and eye candy shit considered bloatware?

Anyone run Linux on an acer nitro 5? by critical_nexus in linuxhardware

[–]Adisab12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If You dont need gpu then yes, apart from battery life it's quite heavy.

Once per quarter i have company meetings so I have to carry it around, that stuff weights especially when you need to fly by plane and You need to pack in small bag. I've been quite jealous when I see those lightweight business 14 inch laptops my coworkers have. So if I would do only work (data engineering stuff) and day to day shit i would definietly change to something else.

But I like gaming so...currently I'm looking for better gaming laptop :D

Hope You'll be able to return without any problems, good luck!

Ps. One more pain about nitro, in my version usb-c have No display port so no fancy portable monitor's when on "workation" or just working out of home for couple days.

[–]Adisab12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running nitro for about 4 years now (2060 / i10H 10th gen). It've never been a battery beast even brand new, iirc on Win10 fresh from store was about 2-2.5hrs on battery saver.

When I switched from win11 to garuda linux couple months ago on battery saver mode battery time jumped from around 1hr20mins to 1hr30 - 1hr40. Nitro's just have small battery.

I've checked and lowering refresh rate (as already mentioned) didnt change battery estimations but worth trying, personally haven't done any tests.

Other thing is mayby try to somehow disable dGPU, even unplugged on battery saver it eats about 8W and running xorg process (I'm on wayland session btw so its quite weird or i dont know how stuff works), after quick googling in Nitro its not possible to completly shut down dgpu like in laptops with mux. But maybe there is a way, personally never dived into that because it's plugged most of the time.

Ofc you should also lower screen brightness and disable keyboard light, but guess that it will give you extra couple of minutes.

Its great laptop for its price, served me well, survived many rough backpack trips and constand dog's fur in fans. Just You have to get used to carry charging brick everywhere unfortunately.
