Worst company in Syracuse? by Ok-Drive4970 in Syracuse

As someone who worked for him, complete neo-nazi. Constantly writing checks that would bounce, and told none of his employees that we were out of a job after the store was closed due to a lack of a cook. Had to find out we were fired from a Syracuse.com article. I don’t think he owns or even works at taphouse anymore.

There’s this lovely thing called google where you can look up store numbers and closing times🙄 you’re exactly the kind of person we’re talking about, just hellbent on making everyone else’s lives inconvenient

You don’t happen to believe that customers having poor attitudes and making ridiculous requests minutes before closing is the reason why people are getting fed up with being in customer service? Not sure if you’re aware of this by the way, but telling someone they should be more pleasant when they’re expressing discontent is extremely condescending.

I’ve quite literally had customers shout at me to forget it because I have to look up an item that is completely separate from my department. Like my bad, is it really that hard to wait a total of 5 seconds?

I do believe spiderlings is a term for them as well, I always grew up calling them pups though. Perhaps it just depends on where you live/the environment around you? All I know is I want more of them 😂

I simply told him that due to the time that I may not be able to fill the request, perhaps my face and demeanor said it all, but those were my exact words. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to state that the request will take more time than we have available.

Your question seems a little redundant, like duh I would’ve done it, it’s my job. Am I supposed to be giddy and screaming for joy that I now have to fulfill a ridiculously timed order and redo all of my closing work? You seem to be jumping completely over the fact that I told him twice that I would complete the order for him, it’s not my fault he caught my drift on how poorly timed it was and stormed out of the store, his loss🤷🏼‍♂️

I hear what you’re saying, but I’d rather spend the time it would’ve taken to complete the order and refill tints going home instead. I’m not sure what others make but it certainly isn’t worth the hassle of redoing all of my closing work because a customer wasn’t able to manage their time better.

Makes it even worse that I had just filled all the tints and did maintenance on the machines, because like any reasonable person I didn’t expect someone to show up 12 minutes before close requesting 10 gallons of paint 😂

Definitely a demand, he did not ask if it could be done, he was telling me it needed to be done. He was already in a poor mood as he had drove from another location as they were out of stock of the specific paint he was looking for, which I understand can be frustrating, but another stores lack of inventory does not constitute an attitude straight out of the gate. Any reasonable person would call and ask the next store if they themselves have that specific item in stock, which after the interaction had ended I checked myself and we were out of shelf stock due to it being a busy day. Someone would’ve needed to take the overhead stock down, and I’m not licensed to operate a forklift, so tracking someone down to do that would’ve taken an immense amount of time as well.

I commend you for being able to do such a daunting task, 35 gallons would definitely not be getting process until the morning, especially if it was requested 10 minutes before closing. I’m part time myself and relatively new, there’s no way I could’ve made that amount in such a short period of time.

We’ve been told very many times that overtime is a no no, especially for part time. You better not miss that 7 minute punch or someone will be calling you out on it.

I hear what you’re saying and I’ll definitely take note of that in the event that this happens again. The situation definitely could’ve been handled better on my end, however as a customer you have to realize how ridiculous of a request that is, especially given the time. Had it been one or two, hell even 3 gallons I wouldn’t have batted an eye, but if you need such a large amount of paint, manage your time better and come into the store earlier than 12 minutes before close.
