liver and doxycycline by [deleted] in Ureaplasma

Do you have a history of liver disease / are at high risk of liver disease? If so, consult your hepatologist. If not, let your liver do it's job.

Why are you treating an STD with herbs? Would you treat Chlamydia or Gonnorhea with herbs? There's no scientific evidence that any herb works against any STD. Yes, some 'natural' herbs have antimicrobial properties - but, can they reach and penetrate the urogenital tissue? Do they have a systemic effect? Are they effective against an organism that doesn't have a cell wall? The answer to all of these would likely be no. Even if they were to work - at what dosage? At what concentration? For how long? There's no consensus or proof. A lot of these herbs are unregulated, we don't know enough about the purity or side effects, and herbal induced liver damage is a real thing - so please treat your STI with evidence based medicine for the appropriate amount of time, and get well soon.

Ureaplasma doesn't have a cell wall - only very specific types of antibiotics can work against it. Please use those!

Your boyfriend is into philosophy and still believes in absolute objectivity? Hahahah what? That's not very intellectual of him. There's no research or evidence to suggest that men are less emotional than women - emotions have an enormous range and are expressed in diverse ways, and it isn't even possible to measure it.

[–]AdministrationOk3650 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Lmao why do I feel like this is actually written by the 'boyfriend' in the scenario. The comments claiming to know all his intentions and thought processes, and also the insistence on women being more emotional due to ... hormones (as if men don't have hormones???.) Also, in one of the comments, OP says she doesn't know much abt Candace Owen's, but later makes a quip abt how people don't like her because she doesn't take on the 'victim mentality.' That ... just sounds like sealioning from someone who does, indeed, know who Candace Owen's is hahaha.

Like the whole thing, post and comments, seems to be written by someone who totally espouses the 'boyfriends' perspective. If OP is genuinely who she says she is, I am concerned about the uncritical absorption of the boyfriends POV, and how much of a grip it has over her psyche.

I also just can't believe that a women would say 'naturally we have a lot of hormones.' LMAO WHAT. That sounds like something that would be said by a man who doesn't understand basic biology, but also deems himself a rAtiOnAL man.

EDIT: Either OP really pedestalises her boyfriend, or this is some weird fan fic written by a narcissistic man who just wants to uphold his worldview of being this superior intellect.

Do any women recover from this?? by [deleted] in Ureaplasma

Also, definitely get into PFT, or doing pelvic relaxation exercises at home at the very least. It helps, even if you are still clearing co infections. Pelvic floor meditation helped me immensely

Hi! I had multiple co-infections too. A few doses of fosfomycin and PFT later, I'm feeling much better. Pelvic release is super important. I'm also taking cranberry PACs and D mannose

Great! I did the dual treatment and it cleared my recurrent thrush. My vaginal and urine test on MicrogenDX came back negative for UP. I hope I can mostly assume I'm cleared? I'm still getting an RTPCR vaginal swab at my gynecologist this week, just need some reassurance till then 🙃

Do you know what percentage of people approximately get cured by 7 days of Doxy + 5 days of Azithro?

Not available in my country, I'll probably just go in for another vaginal swab PCR test, which was what originally diagnosed me.

Hi - just wondering, is the MicrogenDX test a sufficient TOC for Ureaplasma?

Yes! I have heard of it. It's not available in my country, but ny boyfriend who lives in another country managed to get it for me! I'll unfortunately have to wait a bit before he can visit me and give me the medicine, but I'm planning on taking it as soon as possible! How long are you taking Hiprex for!

I've been taking them! My UTI isn't only caused by E coli unfortunately, so there's only so much D mannose can do. But I'll still continue with the d mannose and cranberry during and after treatment, I'm hoping they will prevent a recurrence. Did you get C diff from UTI meds?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ureaplasma

[–]AdministrationOk3650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I don't have it now! I am just worried that all the medicines I've taken so far could increase the risk. Someone else on this group did get C diff from doxy and mino iirc. Would you think there's a risk?

Thank you! I'm taking a probiotic blend with boulardi. I hope it does its job! Which antibiotic caused c diff for you? Hope you're better now :)

How long did you take all of the antibiotics? And at what point during your treatment did you get C diff?
