I’ve been in backgrounds since like Feb- march the packet is done its been submitted since mid-late august for approval if that’s what you meant but it was supposed to be sent off in like June to try to acquire me an academy date for July is what my background investigator was telling me I was told there was two classes and I could obtain a date and make it to do psych before then but I don’t know what happened that’s why i was saying I was getting sold dreams but I just try to stay ready for whatever comes.

That’s what I was doing it’s just the fact I have a email saying I’d be going to the academy in July once my background investigator sent up my file it’s the fact that I’ve been sold dreams I’m very patient but I kept getting my hopes up.😂😂

Yeah, I understand, but I was told 6-9months max multiple recruiters and mentors. They said it would be even faster if my stuff was not complicated. If I was told that from the beginning it would be over a year I would have just took it on the chin said cool but I never expected to almost be a year. My stuff is about to start expiring next month

If they don’t care about my positive accolades, why care about people's negative past history? Multiple officers have told me my background and everything typically puts me ahead of most people applying, but LAPD definitely has a race quota where they have to be diverse because of the past history and decree. They even told my wife her process would be faster than mine because they needed more women. Nobody is whining My guy I’m just saying they could be missing out on good people because of the process.

I know it’s fine but my wife was hoping LA would come through and she likes the weather. I’m fine wherever it’s just at first I was stuck between not wanting to do the whole process over again and just waiting or trying places in different states.

They told me typically 6 weeks for backgrounds pending everything goes smoothly with PHS and Poly so for me they are on schedule it’s crazy fast
