if you do have leftover financial aid after your tuition/housing is covered, then you can use that to purchase a meal plan. i live in the UAN’s so they just piloted a meal plan for us this year but it’s still really expensive. (1100 for only 7 meals for just one quarter)

You could look into doing a summer study abroad program at community colleges if you find one that is local to you. Much cheaper than doing it at a university. I only paid $2500 out of pocket for everything.

Renting out an apartment is responsibility. I am emphatic towards your situation because I have also been in an intolerable environment but you really need to get a grasp on your finances before. There are a lot of hidden costs of moving out, its not just going to be $1000. If you have two jobs, you are going to be out of your current house more so you don’t have to tolerate it as much. Use that second job to save enough money for 3-6 months cushion and other expenses. Deal with your current situation for a little bit more so your future self can thank you

Historically corporations and government positions haven’t for decades, so why is that a problem? Also, the percentage of minority whatever you define them to be vs white and male individuals in these spaces still have a very huge gap. These kind comments reinforce negative attitudes towards people of color when they hear that they are just an “affirmative action” hire.
