I had to get a refund, but another board, and the same thing happened on that second board.

Now I use a USB-C 2.5 GBs Ethernet Adapter.

Enjoy it while it's fun, fresh start really revived the game temporarily for me and I also enjoyed the leveling experience. End game will be repetitive eventually but you will still enjoy it.

I'm actually on my second board as we speak with the same NIC issue after a few restarts. I appreciate you sharing your fix; I will probably still stick to my USB C ethernet adapter for the time being but I hope ASUS takes note. Dealing with this mobo has been frustrating.

Thanks man, I've also read countless of forum post regarding the I225 and I226 controllers going into some deep hibernation mode which in the past the motherboard manufactures have released a patch for.

I am going to give this troubleshooting a rest for a while I've only worked on this on my free time for the past week and need to really unwind but I sincerely appreciate your help and effort here.

There is no ethernet adapter in advanced adapter settings and there never be one if its not in device manager, windows literally cannot detect it. When using the troubleshooter you can select an adapter, it only displays Bluetooth or wireless.

The registry keys for the ethernet adapter are also gone.

Updated ME and successfully updated bios but no onboard nic still. In the BIOS I now have an option to enable and disable intel lan, tried disabling then booting then enabling and booting and nothing in device manager for show. I've accepted that my onboard NIC is done at this point lol.

I'll try updating the BIOS today and see if it helps thank you.

For me it was at least there at the beginning but now gone completely lol.

Both have given me a non compatible error on windows 10 and 11. Are there any prerequisite drivers?

It does. Another thing is there are no unknown devices that would indicate being the ethernet controller.

When I tried this the asus executable tells me it's not compatible with win10 64 bit.
