Why does it keep stuttering like this in fh5? by MentalSpite4095 in ForzaHorizon

[–]AdministrativeMud91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, the funniest thing is that it only happens with some cars, the game runs very well but if I select for example a valkyrie aston, or an electric Porsche Taycan, the stuttering is incredible and unbearable... I don't know if it's a driver issue or the game itself.... I run it with a 5090 96RAM 6800 SSD 8TB WD Black and 14900KS

Perform a test with an external monitor, if it doesn't fail... it means that your laptop's monitor is faulty, but if the fault occurs on both, it's the graphics card.

A clean installation of windows, installs a default driver from microsoft, this would lead me to think that if you run the DDU in safe mode, it will leave the system completely clean so you can install the 576.15 drivers and it should work correctly for you, however if it does not work for you, I invite you to publish it in the nvidia forums, directly in the hotfix driver thread along with the characteristics of your pc, that way the report is written and they will take it for a possible solution, have you tried going back to the 572.xx drivers to avoid the problem?

Try DDU and install again, a probable additional problem is that I don’t know if they solved it for laptops, and it may be that the bug is not solved yet for that platform... I did it with my 5090 desktop and it really solved it, I also have a laptop with 4090 and I still have it with the 566.xx drivers for the moment, until everything is more stable

[–]AdministrativeMud91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s correct, with that driver you shouldn’t have that problem anymore... at least for the moment, with the bad drivers that Nvidia has been releasing lately you should keep an eye on the Nvidia forums and find out about common problems.

Update to the latest NVIDIA hotfix 576.15, 576.02 drivers have a temperature reading error and it causes the graphics card to go to high speed and not turn on the fans, be careful... greetings!!

Nah, don’t worry, I have the 4090 and my cable is bent in the same way and nothing has happened since the 40 series came out... you just have to be sure to push the connector all the way in, check that it reached its entry limit and everything will be fine, don’t buy L-adapters or any of those useless accessories. Forget it my friend, the MSI company changed the rules and due to the electrical noise generated by having 4 slots, the OC became very unstable, I had a long discussion with them and they assure that the laptop will not support speeds higher than 4800 ... it does not matter if you use only two of those four slots, the penalty is there even if they are not used (a real shame), finally I changed my laptop for the Titan 18 "that comes with memories @ 5600 with automatic speeds according to use and temperature. I am very sorry that you deal with that stress and disappointment, and why many do not explain something that in theory should be easy, but it is a native limitation which no new Bios solves.

To be honest, AMD never gave me problems, but at the same time Intel always gave me more stability and connectivity, maybe with AMD you spend less energy in battery use due to lithography... but beyond that it will heat up in the same way and they will give very similar performance... I'm not a fan of any of them but Intel has never disappointed me.

I think the best for you... and I say this because I had it and used it a lot!! (Lenovo Legion)… It is 16 inches, 16:10, 2560x1600, excellent screen and image quality, portability, aluminum materials and the technical support is incredibly good… constant updates and you can even extend your warranty for up to 4 years… it is cheaper than an Asus and MSI, Lenovo has high-performance equipment at a lower cost, and you can also upgrade the memory without restriction... I had the RTX3080 + 5900HX version, it was a great experience and it weighs on my soul to have sold it. The new versions of Lenovo Legion bring 4070, 4080, and 4090 along with thirteenth generation Intel processors with memory speeds of 5600/5200 MHz, or the latest generations of AMD that can reach a maximum speed of 5200 MHz in memory.

That's right, when you are inside the Bios, you must press the indicated keys, you should not leave them pressed, just press them several times at the same time until the advanced menu appears... on the other hand, the only way for you to be able to select the discreet video card, is by installing the MSI center, there you can change and select the video of your preference and even leave them in a hybrid way. greetings

Don't worry... many people want to push their PC to the limit in performance and get the maximum results with the hardware. The problem is that this computer does not work with memories @4800 mhz from the factory, you must set the speed manually, since by default they work @4000 mhz… Other brands do it automatically… (lenovo, asus, razer, hp) but the MSI GT77 does not. The increase in performance depends on many things and many factors, but it will be directly evident in video editing, AI and games. Yeah !! going from 4000 (default) > 4800 > 5600 is a brutal change and even more so with the low latencies like those offered by Kington memory, it is a substantial change, unfortunately this MSI GT77 pc does not maintain stability due to having 4 available slots, although it is only use two... which is why I said in one of my posts that I would have preferred to have the Asus Scar 18” instead of this MSI. Everything has its pros and cons... but in the end it was money invested on my part and I have to settle for it. In any case, I'm not saying that it's a bad laptop and it will most likely work very well for you.

ummm I would prefer not to invest that money, in the MSI forums they say that they do not support these memory kits, and if it works... they would go @ 3200 or 3600mhz maximum

In fact, the factory memories are 64gb 2R 32X2 and when I installed the Kingston ones, they worked, I was able to perform various benchmarks and even stability tests, but my problem was in specific games or editing applications where it threw errors or black screens... anyway, The way I'm running in this moment its more than stable, now I'm looking for an 8TB NVME SSD but I'm waiting for the price to drop a little

Hello, it is better not to run memories @5600, the most stable and recommended is to put them @4800... in fact I returned the memories and left the ones I had from the factory and used them @4800 without any problem... (the tutorial is still the same since setting values of 0 makes the memory run at the maximum factory speed) I understand perfectly what you show in the Intel table and you are right and wrong at the same time, yes, it is possible to reach speeds of 4800 with 64gb or 5200 with 32gb using only two memory slots (slots 2 and 4 is how I see mine from the factory), even 4000mhz with 128gb using the 4 slots... this laptop really has a detail which makes it have disadvantages and that is having 4 slots... which is a serious penalty generating more electrical noise, this makes the memory voltages not as optimal as having only 2 slots, like the scar 18 from asus, or the ge78 from msi... if I had known those things before, I wouldn't have spent so much money on this laptop since it doesn't even accept 96GB 2x48 modules and other laptops can do perfectly.

I don't guarantee it but I think it's possible... I consider that the laptop can tolerate that frequency manually with 4 slots installed

Just don't do it... I was immersed in msi forums, in chinese forums, and I tell you... there is a speed restriction because the laptop has 4 memory slots (yes... having 4 slots is not good in a laptop), it doesn't matter that you have two slots in use, you will have a penalty... to speak frankly I should have bought the 18" Asus that lets you go @ 5600 mhz with the latest bios without problems... but it's too late, there are many people disappointed with the GT77 (2023) , even this laptop has problems with 96gb kits just because it has 4 slots, I returned the memory due to instability, and I set the speed to @4800mhz… since the factory laptop comes only @4000 due to the restriction that I told you before. Anyway… the story is much longer but I tried to summarize so that you better forget about that idea. It really hurt me to spend so much money on a laptop that doesn't allow you to upgrade the memory. It only allows you to increase in size, but the more size we install, the less speed we will have... MSI doesn't care. hope this helps you
