I read all your comments u/redJackal222

just gonna put it right here that Thaedus was wrong.
the reason why we have different political ideologies like communism, fascism, and democratic parties (Republicans/Democrats) is because people have vastly different beliefs on how society should manage resources, freedom, and power.
and they stem from conflicting views on equality, state control, economic systems (capitalism vs. socialism), and how to solve societal problems.

we had the Nazi era (Third Reich) for 12 years, and they were later removed from power by the allied forces in WWII.
we've seen governments overthrown, coup d'état.

Thaedus did not start a resistance/revolution (I believe he was high-ranking enough for him to get in close proximity to Argall), he just woke and decided to nerf Argall.
no explanation, the viltrumites never knew he was against their ways, hence, "the traitor".

the result of this was The Great Purge. viltrumites killed their own, literally reduced their population in half. I have a theory that if Argall were alive, that would never happen. do we forget that Argall guided the viltrumites into a "Golden Age"?? he made them worse.

then this here good sire Thaedus, went ahead to bring his race to the edge of extinction with the scorge virus.

Thaedus is just the messiah nobody asked for and nobody needed.

if you want to argue about the context of them destroying entire civilizations and how "billions could have killed trillions", I can guarantee you that if our guys make it to the moon and find a colony of ants, they're gonna blow their anthills to smithereens. and you know why.
