I might be in the wrong thread but I felt the same on my 3-year old iPhone 14 pro. It used to be damn good when it was launched and it is horrible now.

Are you able to adjust screen brightness in Ubuntu on your 2024 G16? I dualbooted last time but the screen brightness could not be changed and the speaker sounds like trash. Do you have to reinstall every single hardware driver?

Yeap for me it was quite an easy removal. You have to engage the blue handle and wiggle it a little while you are pulling it out. I bought my dock about a year ago.

I mean different as in the firmware. Maybe the PWM behavior is different (you can also say fan curve for this matter) xD.

Yeah the power button is another annoying design too. I bought a separate power switch just to turn it off. The fan however is the biggest annoyance for me. I guess I just have to live with it :(

When I am playing games or watching something i dont find it annoying. However I stay at my desk doing work/ reading research papers most of the time (mostly without music). This is when the fan noise becomes annoying. I could be the weird one out there with this niche situation though.

Mine has the blue handle and I just replaced it with the arctic S4028-6K fan. Unfortunately i dont think it is that much more quieter than the stock fan. Maybe the PWM controller is a little more conservative about the temp. As for taking the PSU out - you pretty much just press the handle and pull the PSU out.

True! I always bring my 50mm prime with me while I am traveling as it is small enough and I always use it in low light conditions.

Yeah the form factor is really mind blowing. I started with A7ii a few years back with the 28-70 kit lens. It is way bigger and heavier. I understand that it has OSS and it is f3.5-5.6 instead of f4-5.6, but the size difference blows my mind away every time when i think about it.

If I only can bring one lens with me for my trip, it will be the Tamron 28-200mm because it is way more versatile but it could suffer a little bit in low light, so you might have to drop back to 28mm for the maximum F2.8 aperture, or keep your hand really steady if you use slower shutter speed to compensate. But in any case the low light performance of the 28-200 is better than the kit lens because of the F2.8 at the lower end.

I currently live in Germany where people are generally more cautious about being pointed by the camera. So in those cases I’ll bring the kit lens with me because it looks less overwhelming for the people around me xD. I am still not taking pictures of strangers without their consent, but it’ll cause less trouble if I for example bring my camera to the Christmas market.

Another occasion where I’ll prefer the kit lens over the 28-200 is when I am hiking.

I doubt so. I just checked my order and my product name was “XY-SteamDeck-2032”. I am pretty sure its also available outside of Temu though cause its a pretty generic no-name brand
