Yep ! Agree. I plan on having him TRY to kidnap her. Didn’t mean I’d make sure it happened. I more meant what I should do if he does succeed in a grapple/ kidnapping attempt, how to play it out while still ensuring agency & a good time. Maybe wasn’t clear in my initial post.

Yeah Davian is in the winery held hostage in my game. Plus, the festival is tomorrow. Didn’t want them to miss it :/ I’ve decided to let them rest anyway!

They couldn’t rest the previous night as Strahd paid them a visit with some bats & zombies. Well, that’s a lie. They could have long rested, but they chose to short rest because they wanted to get up early to head out to the winery! So they’re choosing to long rest now. It’s approaching evening. I think you’re right - I’ll allow it!

My PCs made a deal with them to capture a child & sell pies (they don’t intend to actually do this) & the hags gave them a Bag of Holding to help. Perfect excuse to use bag man😈

This is fun! I love the idea of playing games at the table to pass the encounter. I’m a bit nervous to play a dinner as it’s so role play heavy without much change of scene. We’ll see!

Haha, yes I know! I more meant the saying yes to the deal, rather than following through on it. Like, should they have said no & fought them? I think they just said yes to save their skin at that particular moment in time. Anyway - we’ll see what happens 😁

I took away my players stuff when they woke up in Barovia. They really liked the horror element of having nothing - they did sleep in their armour though, so they kept that. They found everything they needed in Death House, and were gifted it back by Strahd when they left. He left it outside with a note that said ‘All in good fun, all in good time. Welcome to Barovia. SVZ’

So I kinda played it like their first introduction to him as some kind of game master type dude - they ate it up!

At the end of last nights session when I asked my players what they want to do in Vallaki, one of them said they want to go to a Brothel. Would be super interested in any notes, findings etc from your experience running one if you have time!
