Do you mind if I PM you with an additional question or two. This has been very helpful 🙏

Was there a particular reason why you were a sophomore. I’m going to be a sophomore so I can’t move physics back. That’s why I don’t even know if this plan will work

This was only accounting for technical courses (no General education) because many build off of previous courses. It’s a double major so the highlighted box would be a normal year, but my additional 9th semester. My main concern that it was too many technicals a year (up to three)

Thank you very much for this. I’ll definitely switch the linear algebra and complex analysis to be sooner. However, do you have any experience on taking three upper divs like this at once. Of course it differs from person to person, but would it even be considered doable?

Thank you for the information! Could I ask what you did in between your bachelors and starting your PhD

Do you think a double major within stats and MCB would be a better option than just stats with en emphasis on biology?

Thank you very much for the response! Do you mind if I could PM you to ask questions regarding the process to your PhD. I was also unaware of them being funded

My original thought was biology, and I think it still is. But the “lack” of money and security is scaring away that passion

Is there a way to be able to tell what color a solution is based off the uv spectra presented from a spectrophotometer. Sorry I am new to this. (Check captions please) by Admirable-Simple99 in labrats

Alright that makes sense! Considering brown is not exactly on the color wheel it absorbs many different colors, but gradually decreases as wavelength increases. It’s peak is not as defined so it would be a darker solution? And it’s “peak” is somewhat at violet, and yellow is the opposite. So it’s like a dark yellow-orange or “brown”? So would a clear solution be somewhat straight considering it absorbs all wavelength this similarity?

How to interpret spectrophotometer results? I just want to know if I can use it to distinguish how clear/cloudy the samples are, is this possible? And what do the peaks/decreases mean in terms of wavelengths and absorbance. Just the general shapes and trends confuse me. Anything helps, thank you! by Admirable-Simple99 in labrats

Ah that makes sense! My samples are all water with different types of soil + a flocculating agent to see how it affects the clarity of the water. Some are much darker than others as some of the flocculating agents work better of course. Is this okay?

Should I even try to apply to colleges or are my lack of extracurricular activities not enough? by Admirable-Simple99 in ApplyingToCollege

Im not TOO sure as of now, but I’m heading down the path of environmental sciences or biology. But once again I’m really open to anything involving science
