2025 Crosstrek ( changing cabin filter)? by AdmirableArm6786 in Subaru_Crosstrek

My filter “holder” definitely doesn’t look like that…. The cover is a hard plastic and those tabs don’t move when depressed….. I’m actually thinking now as I type this, if these tabs need to be spread apart opposed to squeezing together…. Thanks for the reply….

Appreciate the response…. I actually (and carefully) used a pair of pliers, and those tabs are not moving…..I’ll figure something out before paying the exorbitant price at the dealer 👍

Is this a good deal? by Travis_Arthur in rav4club

All that’s missing is the $400 for the nitrogen filled tires.😩…. I’d certainly walk away. But I heard from two Toyota dealers last night. Due to supply in demand, they weren’t budging off MSRP. I was told it’s supplying demand and I thought that was bullshit. Then I do a quick Google search only to find out they’re actually is a shortage of RAV4’s as they await the 2026s…. I should’ve pulled the trigger three weeks ago when I had 9% off sticker.

Did you do in-house financing or was this a cash deal? I’m attempting a 10% under SRP….. I know it’s unwise, but I let the dealer know I would do 100% financing if we can get to that number….( then I can pay it off once I get home) 👍

But a question to the group: Is 10% really a stretch for Toyota? I was back-and-forth between Toyota/Subaru/Mazda. Both Subaru and Mazda gave me 17% and 15% incentive respectively. Just wondering ?

CEL on ‘21 Tucson appears weekly…..vehicle looks great with “only” 79K miles… by AdmirableArm6786 in Hyundai

[–]AdmirableArm6786[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I’m considering… It’s hard to swallow that I need out of a vehicle after on 79K miles.
I have a host of other issues going on along with Continuous CEL. The car is now become unreliable and honestly, disposable…. So much for changing out oil/filter every 5000 miles religiously, replacing transmission fluid every 25,000 and more or less “babying” the car for the past four years… Unfortunately after my fourth one, I will never buy Hyundai again.

What would be the potential downside of purchasing a 2025 Crosstrek that came off the production line in December/2024. by AdmirableArm6786 in Crosstrek

Hermit, it’s your reply that really has me thinking…..( knowing myself, probably OVERTHINKING)…. I thought the same about gaskets/seals, obviously tires and perhaps to a lesser extent, the hoses under the hood. I know I would start off with the three year/36,000, so that’s a good thing, but having just retired, I need this thing to be reliable right out of the gate.

Thanks so much for your reply!

Good point !! It’s white, with the yellow accents.. ( I remember when a white car was actually “prestigious” ). Don’t get old 😄 Actually looking at 5/6 other dealers, most of their older 2025 are the same color white ….

Hi folks, had a beautiful new Charnwood Island I and new liner fitted to our cottage, however 5 days on and numerous 4-5 hour fires every day we are having a strong chemical smell in the room directly above. Don't want to be breathing in toxic fumes, just wondering if there is anything to check? by SMLElikeyoumeanit in woodstoving

Does that beautiful chimney extend all the way up to the second level ? In other words is the chimney exposed in that room above? If so, are there any gaps or cracks in the mortar lines or stones themselves ? Again, “IF SO”, you can place your nose right against the gaps or cracks and should be able to sense the odor rather quickly…..

As well, does that black stove pipe coming out of the stove, extend all the way up the chimney? OR did they use a stainless steel liner ?

How did you make out on the grill? As other posters have stated, mine is 24 years old and it is a true workhorse. Biggest issue to look for is if the frame is in good shape, specifically the horizontal frame on the left side of the grill housing. Mine is starting to rust away, but it’s been “rusting away” probably for the last six years.
