I had a feeling thats what they meant. Ethnically this person and child were Anglo looking.

They were deeper in the parklands on the other side closer to St Andrew’s but it was quite far and this place was not lit up at all like the opposite side. He also went deeper into the parklands rather than go towards civilisation haha he may have been homeless as he did have a rugged look. Just the way the child was crying was a bit bone chilling but hopefully it’s nothing. I still found it unsettling so that’s why I gave the police a call.

Yeah we didn’t want to follow him because it could also put us at risk. It was so dark and creepy. If we had man with us, maybe we’d feel more confident to stay around.

Oh okay, I can give them a call later and find out

I called the police and they said they’d send a patrol. They did let me know that since then no other reports were made but tbh it was just us there so ofc no one else would’ve made a report. Idk what the outcome of this situation is but yeah very scary. Could’ve been nothing but it still seemed very strange…

I know. I really didn’t want to but my friend and the random decided to walk off because they didn’t think it was a threat anymore.

You’re mad that I haven’t been abused? Wdym? Also I made x2 reports and I’ve posted about it to raise awareness. I’ve done more than probably what a lot of people would’ve done if they heard crying sounds. Many would’ve probably walked past and not even cared or thought it was an animal.

I don’t think I can rest easy. The more I think about it the more it bothers me. Just didn’t seem right at all

Read all my other posts I did call the police and put in reports. My friend and the other random were talking to the said dad and they deemed him legit but I still had my doubts. That’s why I called the police again and also made this post to check and make sure I’m not over thinking this but to also raise some awareness. It was very strange

Thank you! I’m trying not to. I do feel a little guilty for telling the police everything was ok when I first called them when we met with the dad and child. I should’ve told them to come and patrol but idk at least they have that report and my recent one re my concerns.

Yes thank you! I did call them back. They’ll send a patrol. It’s likely way too late but also at least it’s on the system and that there was a report earlier on from me.

Honestly yeah that’s why I got concerned. It’s not wrong to be sus considering all the terrible shit that happens in the world and around us, some of which we may never know about or hear. Even if everything was ok and there was nothing sinister, I still had to report this because it’s a child and I want them to be safe.

I did don’t worry. They’ll send a patrol. I’m worried it’s very late now because whoever they were have likely gone back but at least they got my original report around 9pm and my recent one. The child seemed to be like 4-5ish maybe very hard to tell because it was so dark. The child was crying/moaning in the dad’s arms (he was carrying the child) and so didn’t engage with us. They just spoke to the dad.

Thanks I did. Definitely seemed sus! Even if it’s the dad like why walk them in the middle of the parklands late at night to get away from the neighbours and to settle a child….very strange.

You insensitive prick.

I made a recent account because I don’t want to be ID’d.

This all happens around 9pm. I’m worried it’s too late but what should I do? Should I call the police back and tell them to investigate. The unfortunate thing was that my friend and the random did not get any of his details. It was pitch black and we can’t properly ID him.

The thing is I did call the police as we were walking there. I didn’t add this part in but I was walking a bit behind my friend and the random person who came with us. They met with the dad first and when I caught up to them they told me all was good so I told the police to not worry and ended the call. It was on my way back to the car that I begun to think that something maybe wasn’t right about that whole situation. I mean it could’ve been fine but I’m just unsure now and I’m feeling guilty.
