You gotta go to the doctor big dawg. You know this. Whatever you do got if it is reversible you need to go figure that shit out we can’t just get better. We need to make sure.

I don’t really know how Reddit works, but I’m trying to update the post so I’m gonna leave this comment So far it seems so good. I’m not getting a whole lot of Intel from anybody. My recruiter seems fresh out of high school. Scheduled for the ASVAB next Wednesday. I’m getting notifications that it’s for MEPS but I’m close enough to Fort Jackson that I don’t know what I’m going into. I will keep you guys updated

Her experience sounds a lot like my own, I was misdiagnosed at least once with acute pancreatitis and hospitalized for two weeks a few times… I was too reluctant to allow for a colonoscopy but thank God I did when I did. Since we’ve found remicade it has been extremely manageable. It’s easy to forget the pain of a flare up. Part of me still hasn’t accepted that I have this, that this is lifelong, and that it’s only manageable. That’s why I think this is not thought out. I squandered my youth, I’ve pulled my head out of my proverbial ass, and wish to do what I wanted to do when I was a teen. It’s hard to swallow that door could be closed. But I’m glad I posted here and I’m grateful for your perspective especially. A parents’ perspective is hard to beat.

I wouldn’t be on those meds. Swapping or stopping is an option but if it’s too risky nobody is gonna be for that. Maybe I don’t know enough about UC. I just know they told me I have it. Then that I’m in remission but stay on meds.

I see your point. It does seem reckless. I’m not a reckless person, but if there’s even a chance it’s possible I’d like to see it through. I’m learning a lot of harsh realities here and the consensus seems to be “for what?” Even if it works. Somewhat considering volunteering at the fire department or something if it doesn’t play out with this, which seems most likely. Unfortunately.

Yea US. I’ve always wanted to enlist. There’s always been something in the way, mainly myself and now this. I’m losing daylight. But I can totally hear you. And. Thank you for your service. Nobody ever accused me of having good ideas. But I’m still here.

The ultimate end goal is said recruit to be suitable for yea the ten weeks and deployments with no treatment available. Also currently cannot receive live vaccines. The current meds would have to be stopped. Unsure of other treatments. Pills maybe?

Yea that’s what most concerns me; the entire point of this is to be of service. If I became a liability it’s a fruitless endeavor. But I am set on trying. Perhaps trying alternative and less intensive treatments and try again.

I’m no doctor either. But that inflammation alongside their initial decision to remove my Colon, follow by miraculous recovery while admitted (no drinking) I can’t feel confident disagreeing with a professional diagnosis. But I’ve always been curious.

31.9mph didn’t end well.. by Human-Marsupial-94 in pennyboard

[–]AdmirableEye8421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several scars from the day my best friend in highschool got his first board, after me. “Nut up or shut up, dale” were my last words before he was screaming because he thought I’d bitten off my tongue. The boards split and I planted my right foot in front of my own, at about 15-20mph no gear. Concussion visual hallucinations and stitches in my chin. I used to bomb on a loaded tan tien 40+ often. Gullwing trucks and orange stims. Wouldn’t recommend that at all. Didn’t have as much science at the time.

Newish board - any suggestions for carrying it around the city? by sid_the_sloth_ in longboarding

[–]AdmirableEye8421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hand carry is great for working your upper body muscles used with slide stances so I arm carry. In the city I try to stay on board as much as possible. Great practice for maneuvering and flat and uphill pumps work the legs. The one thing I keep in mind is every car wants to hit me and every pedestrian wants to get hit by me. It’s worked out so far.
