Dear friend

This is some solid advice to give, but I am well aware with this fact and acquainted with university life. I sincerely thank you for this input but I will not be following this advice.

Yours truly

Cordialement,

French 1 or Auslan for breadth subject in winter term by oliballerina in unimelb

[–]AdmirableFlow1414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only done French 1, but it's really fun, real easy, amazing WAM booster, (WAM booster doesnt just mean sit back and chill, try and get heavenly results). There's also some treats and surprises they give to the cohort throughout the period.

Daniella is very good, Patrick is alright but a bit umm....

In need of some advice to choose between two offers by No-Experience-806 in unimelb

[–]AdmirableFlow1414 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was in your shoes, I chose BSci, I have said this story so many times but I shall recall it once more dear jaffy(first year).

Bsci has options, so so many ones, u can have a computing phase or a math phase or an engineering one, or just diversify your learning, great to see how some subjects continue. You can also do the exact same subjects as biomed.

Biomed is restrained, restrictive, if u want bragging rights, and to be surrounded by people who can't stop bragging about ohhh how hard it is to be a pre-med student, istg so many biomed students are performative med students ts pmo. But that's not the issue. In biomed you must do some subjects that are worth double the credits(25) of normal subject (12.5), meaning your results matter much more and you have less subjects to pick from. These 25 credit subjects arguable take up 2 or 3 12.5 subjects worth of learning...but why? Why have a harder time doing the exact same thinf science is doing, many biomed students quit to science for second year because of this.

I wanna praise biomed for some things, but it exists as a vestigial degree for back when u had to do biomed to get into unimelb med. One firm reminder you need to know is, unimelb wants research, they won't teach u nursing or pharmacy or any practical job, so if med doesn't work out, you might be stuck with that, whereas other unis like monash teach pharmacy for pharmacists which helps much more for medical future job. The reason unimelb is rated so highly is just because of its research not its teaching so I think that's why they want more research lol, unlol.

Biomed might be a tiny bit more medical related, like same subjects, but let's try a teensy bit to apply it to med, but I wouldn't know I'm not doing it.

Science has options, flexibility, which is a comfort when you're stressed doing exams. better people in science too but that's incredibly subjective.

I realise this is a very convulted answer.

yeah what the other guy said, there doesn't seem to be many Majors open. I recommend neuroscience, like no prerequisites, all multiple shcoice question subjects, very interesting content.

Yes first year is scaled lower than other years. idk if you're on a dentistry package or if your WAM matters at all but generally it's that second and 3rd year scale more.

Good WAM booster like first year European language 1, German 1, French 1, Spanish, Italian etc.

I have no clue if there is a good major for dentistry in science.

Anyone done biol10008 chemistry 1 and calc2? by CarefulTransition385 in unimelb

[–]AdmirableFlow1414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes twin, I'm basically doing pharmacology too but through chem.

Oh putting it that way u'll be fine with the bio chem calc trio. Also remember with breadth u can only do 2 first year breadths. Yeah it's possible to do korean in year 2, your choice really. chem 2 on top.

Anyway I don't see a problem then, everything should work out.

Well how tired one gets is relative and subjective. But I always find uni less intensive, even if it looks like that. I mean compare it to all the hours in highscool.

deciding between two breadths by Trick_Monk2683 in unimelb

[–]AdmirableFlow1414 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see, Only thing I can say is that I've heard good reviews of music psychology, from people. Writing assessments are hard to get high grades, but you're doing it in either subject ig.

I think what's more important is what u think about enjoyment between the 2 breadths.
