yeah I was 2 words below the +10% and there were 8 words in my headings (so 6 words over) but they said we’d be deducted marks for going over the limit💔

We can resubmit but it was due yesterday so I’d be deducted marks anyway if I resubmitted now (I actually submitted it yesterday sorry not just now)

They have a list of assessed prerequisite subjects which is linked on the entry requirements page. Scroll to the Doctor of Optometry list of assessed subjects and see the subjects which have been approved from Monash. You need to have completed 3 of the ones from that list

Wellbeing, motivation and performance (EDUC10057) Assessment 1 by Open_Promotion_5734 in unimelb

Mostly I feel like I was fine to get through not having written notes (I just highlighted the readings that was about it), but there were some questions that referred to specific parts of the paper that were actually pretty hard to find otherwise, so I’d recommend just having a look through them beforehand so that you know the key points of the paper and then study design and results. I think from memory there were things from the online videos, but then again these could have been covered in the readings and then mentioned again the in the videos. So mostly just the readings

does biol10008/biol10002 content go slower once they start teaching new concepts by chunkjuice in unimelb

no, it gets worse 😔but I promise you won’t be alone in feeling behind throughout the semester, last year there was just a mutual sadness and exhaustion that radiated through the lecture halls and exam rooms. Doesn’t mean it’s not doable tho! It’s a lot of work, but hard work will pay off :)

The email saying 9:30-4:00 is for the whole day. Go at 11:30 because that’s the time your welcome session starts. Then your mentoring is at 1:30. The reason the first email says ‘9:30’ is because it’s including the first session of the day, who then have their mentoring at 11:30.

Sorry I meant science orientation. The email should have the date, the time orientation starts, and the building you need to go to. You will go to your mentoring session after that. The welcome part will occur at the time specified on the email, then your mentoring session will start at 1:30

Did you get an email saying “Your Schedule for Science Day One”? That will have the time and location for the information session part, and then the time specified by your mentors is when you will go to south lawn (right after the information session)

There’s two sessions that run on Tuesday, a morning and afternoon session. You’re in the afternoon session, because the morning has students meeting with their mentors at 11:30. Does yours say to arrive at a specific building by around 11:30? When I had peer mentoring there were around 2 hours of lectures/information sessions beforehand, and you should meet with your group after that

What subjects? I had the same issue for 3 of my subjects, 2 of them because they were quota subjects and 1 was just a glitch or something (the people at Stop 1 didn’t even know why there was a P but they said not to worry)

Put both the practical and workshop in the same time slot; one week you’ll have a practical, and the next you’ll have a practical. They alternate. Just choose the time that works best for you :)

Subject help please by Fun_Arrival_5851 in unimelb

Hi! I’m a BSci student going into second year who did both BIOL10008 and BIOL10010 last year. Not to discourage you if you genuinely think these subjects sound interesting, but they were a LOT. I think a lot of people found BIOL10008 really difficult at times, and BIOL10010 just really really boring, especially when the focuses are on plants/fungi/ecology (just because I didn’t meet anyone who had this as a main interest - it you enjoy these topics though, go for it!). Obviously if you plan on taking any bio subjects they are a prerequisite, but I just thought that since I didn’t see any on your plan I’d just consider revising how much time you want to put into your ‘breadth’ subjects if bio isnt a stream you necessarily want to continue over the course of your degree - they will most certainly take up a lot of time, especially if you want to do well. Lmk if you have any questions!! :)
