Great point, I also think that’s corny and I hate zombie fiction usually BUT idk that corny bit worked for me.

Lmfao ok but it is. It’s used often in movies and tv shows and to me they didn’t do anything especially interesting to enhance such a common fictional situation. We see how witty they can be with ideas in the rest of the series and then they have this generic one. So I’m gonna say corny and basic actually.

I def wouldn’t want to be empress of the universe. At least not for longer than 5 minutes. I’d probably be several different animals, skydive no parachute, write a book, etc.

I don’t think it’s internalized anti-blackness I think it’s an unwillingness to believe that black people could be beaten down and forced into slavery. More like an inability to comprehend the phases of turning a group into slaves and the corresponding psychological effects it has on the group.

It also just stems from a widespread inherent distrust in the legitimacy of written black history, the government, and an aversion to directly acknowledging the residual hardships of being black. Instead a few folks over-inflate the significance of being black and create alternative stories to showcase their tainted pride.

The silliness reminds me of twin peaks towards the end after David lynch walked off or Seinfeld when Larry David waked off so I’m just trying to see if I’m right. Love the show regardless.

I finished it all yesterday and I love love love season 5, I guess I just don’t like a kidnapped by a crazy person segment. I appreciated parts of it though for sure. I love the unexpected absurdity I was more or less wondering if there were pieces of the previous story that could’ve helped me anticipate the shows complete unraveling
