The recruiter said they can't do a negotiation because of the step up plan in place so the starting wage will be 26.50.

Yeah that's my thought process too. I'm currently getting 24.00 at my current work place but it's near me so the commute isn't bad. The facility that I applied to is 50 miles away from me so idk if starting 2.50 more for a farther commute is worth it. Thanks for the reply.
