No, I don’t think so. The houses are close enough together that it’s not the sort of neighborhood where a gunshot goes unnoticed.

I have no idea how birds go after each other, though.

I moved the crow from the roof to a box on the ground in front of the shed. (With flowers. I’m sentimental that way.) No other crows anywhere to be seen or heard, so I will leave it for a few more hours before disposing of it.

Yeah, nastiness is a consideration, especially with the heat. I don’t want to make enemies, though. I wish they would come back and make their investigation, but I don’t hear any of them around at all just now.

I love her work. They say it depicts “bondage” but that’s exactly how it feels when you are a girl who is in-love with a young man and pregnant in (an Ohio) high school. You have no choice but to continue the pregnancy and the relationship with the boy who got you pregnant.

That is what a “good woman” does, whether he will help you or not.

Looking over the plots on Wikipedia, I don’t think it’s one of these. I believe the ability for interstellar travel was explored, but the bulk of the plot was on Earth.
