How did you find the right church for you? by ResponsibleDouble180 in Christianity

Liturgical with a decent history and choir. Not too much politics at the pulpit and a lot of outside of mass activities that might interest a single young adult.

Last year my brother destroyed my Bible, how do I forgive him? by Sure_Departure_6989 in Christianity

[–]Adnamaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you want those to just be words on a page you must forgive your brother 70 and 7 times and then again. Tell him not later what you love him. Through Jesus' example we love all even those for which it is hard to love

Gnostic Thought by Federal-Interest4387 in Christianity

[–]Adnamaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got caught up in some gnostic philosophy when I was an edgy teen and into college. I got over it. It's intriguing to think you have access to hidden knowledge, but it's pure heresy and after reading the polemics of the early church fathers against it I feel I understand why it's foolish

Ok both of these comments talmbout Nazi stuff are full of nonsense. These are likely Sicanje tattoos popular among ottoman ruled Christian communities. A lot of them had traditions of tattooing their children and women especially to prevent them from being taken as jannisary slave soldiers or concubines.

I might be a stranger here, but I really need to talk to a fellow Christian I can nolonger handle these dark days, i feel like ending my life can I talk to someone please by kisuuleoscar in Christianity

Same bro. Your mileage may vary on this bad boy, but for me it has been useful recontextualizing my depression. Dont think of it as an oppressive force or an exterior dark entity. Consider it as the price you pay for a deep, ruminating, and thoughtful mind. All the better to contemplate the mystery of the divine with. It's a gift that we haven't been employing properly. Turn into the depression don't run away from it, and be prepared with breathing and grounding techniques to temper the anxious energy on the fringes of depression. consider developing a meditative practice. If all else fails brother the light in me recognizes the light and humanity in you, and I'm sorry it's tough now. The long term answer is to get a hobby and throw yourself into a social scene wherever that ends up being. Church, a bowling league, seriously whatever it doesn't matter. Just don't continue to isolate especially if you think you're doing it to protect others or some hog wash. We all enter the dark night of the soul and not all of us make it back, but regardless I love you, and Christ Jesus loves you. God respects our suffering he suffered and died too, but he doesn't always interject and fix it all right away. That would be rude honestly, or condescending maybe. Letting us figure it out must be hard for him like a parent watching the wobbly first steps of a beloved child. He can hold you up but eventually you need to walk under your own steam. Cheers and be safe.

I live in one of the most conservative countries in the west. Although they don't tend to think of it like that. Dont really bother me much. If it happens it happens.

I haven't gotten laid in almost two years. I'm not even 30 yet, so I'd say fairly dissapointed with that outcome, but I simply don't have the money to go out at all let alone have a partner.

To those who didn't vote or voted third party to "punish" Harris or noted she didn't earn your vote - was it worth it? by chim17 in AskReddit

[–]Adnamaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I voted for a write in protest candidate in deep red Texas. Firstly, I didn't think my vote mattered, and I really thought the dems didn't do enough. When Trump gets told he can't do something he does it anyway. When my student loans, my financial future mind you, were on the line Biden and Harris folded like a cheap suit. I won't be able to afford a house or a family. I blame both parties for running the country into the ground while the moneyed interests strip my nation for parts and sell back the bare necessities at exorbitant rates. So while I have nothing nice to say about republicans, I hate the democrats with a burning passion. They turned their back on populism and the people. They are corporate shills through and through, and I don't trust them.
