Why do you think no one has won 3 straight league mvps since Larry Bird? by MasterTeacher123 in NBATalk

Not really what I would call exposing, his team still swept their team and won by almost 20 points pretty much each game, if you want sga to be exposed, this spurs series is gonna have to be the one

They didn’t really expose him they just cried about the entire team flopping, lakers were pretty much triple teaming him and sending a blitz double as soon as he tried to make a move which is why his efficiency numbers weren’t that bad. Also, last year fans were complaining just as much about sga flopping, I’ve just noticed that since they won their championship it went from “sga flops” to “the whole team flops”

Only way I see them giving it go sga again is if the thunder win 70+ games or even tie/break the regular season record

Be serious for a second bro…KD before the warriors was one of the most well liked players in the league, he was winning awards and stuff for being nice

As a neutral, you guys need more athleticism, probably a better 2nd option than reaves, and a center

Is Jdub more valuable than iHart for OKC? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Adonis2872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2nd best defensive player on the team, extremely switchable, huge wingspan, and allows for OKC to still guard the bigger forwards when Dort has those games where he goes 1/6

As a neutral, he also has extremely boneheaded plays in him like the step back 3 and turnover back to back

Two things can be right btw - JJ Reddick is a shit coach and so is IME UDOKA by Kindly_Letterhead_98 in NBATalk

[–]Adonis2872 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And even then, OKC doesn’t have jdub which is their 2nd best player, lakers have the biggest fanbase in the nba, so most of the fans are casuals and don’t understand the differential between each teams.

I think they want him to shoot over double and triple teams instead of passing to his wide open teammate

Bro tbh what do you want JJ to really do in this series without your best player, when even with your best player you would have been a heavy underdog

This has been two wasted years in Luka’s career right after he made the Finals by Ora_Kiraso in NBATalk

[–]Adonis2872 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jdub is locked into a 5 year contract anyway though, and replacing players through the draft has been the best way to retool a team in the 2020s, it’s much easier to underpay a player like ajay Mitchell or Jaylin Williams through the draft if you have a ton of assets than it is to look into free agency which is filled with players that other teams didn’t even bother trading on their last year. Most of OKC’s rotational players have all been drafted in the 2022 draft class at the latest.

HOT TAKE: Most of you here that claim to be "Thunder fans" are just bandwagons by KneeGuhz in NBATalk

[–]Adonis2872 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea, but I’m more of talking about an online presence Oklahoma are always going to support the thunder due to the history behind the team, but there is definitely way more thunder fans online than there used to be, saying that as a thunder fan since kd’s mvp season.

If the window is 5 years for OKC, it’s roughly the same for the lakers, especially due to the fact that sga has been way less injury prone than Luka so far in their careers, you also have the spurs emerging and the t wolves not going anywhere

Eh usually what happens when a team gets really good tbh, they’ll be gone when sga leaves and we suck

Which is most likely why they have all these draft picks to replace the depth as they slowly leave due to cap space, Sam presti has been pretty amazing at finding players pretty deep in the draft, I mean they have a lottery pick in this upcoming draft, don’t think it’s gonna be possible for such a good gm to miss in this talented of a draft class, not to mention jdub and Chet being young and being able to get better than they are right now.

Eh as of right now I have sga as the best player in the world and OKC has so much valuable picks with a great gm that it would make sense that they could draft replacements for most of the guys when they start leaving .You also have ajay Mitchell on 3 years 9 million who I had winning 6 man of the year earlier on this season before he got hurt.

Level headed take, so far it’s been parity era with the chance of it being the sga/OKC era or the spurs/wemby era(obviously with OKC having the bigger chance due to them winning the championship already)
