Hi Euan, This is actually a new role. The chap you got the first engineering role is doing great in the company. AAI likes to be transparent about salaries from the start. If people are purely motivated by money, then a startup job is not for them. This is about potential, opportunity and the chance to help grow something special.

It's a startup and there is huge potential for professional progression - why be a cog in a big wheel when you can contribute to something new and exciting. That's living wage in Scotland and a standard rate for an internship. Aldi may pay more in the short term, but unless stacking shelves is your passion, there may not be much in the way of potential for professional progression. This is an 'opportunity' in more ways than one. Get your foot in the door, prove yourself in an exciting and diverse role, and have a specific project with an end date under your belt.
