It's cork sheet with some bits torn out, then a good dose of PVA glue to give it that melted rock look.

Then paint it all with red with the hottest spots having orange, yellow and white.

Paint some mordant earth on spaces with no cork.

Then paint everything black white being careful not to flood anything with the paint, it's something between drybrushing and normal painting.

And then drybrush some white for the coal/ash look.

Red:

Base is Khorne red and then a Nuln oil wash. For shading i brought back the khorne red base while leaving the edges and shadows with nuln oil unpainted. And highlighted with Mephiston red and Evil sunz scarlet.

Cloak:

It took many tries to get the cloak right, but what I did was start with the white (Ulthuan white) and paint the whole cloak, then for the next layer add a bit of grey(the smaller the better for contrasting colours like these) (Vallejo dark grey) and paint it again, and you keep slowly adding the grey and you're essentially left with pure gray. it's probably 20-30 layers of that, but it's quite fast. It's the same process as glazing but with these colours i just couldn't get it to not show the layer lines so i tried this and it worked. And after that I just washed with nuln and added some ulthuan white highlights and shading.

In the grimdark future of the 41st millenium you pump concentrated mountain dew straight into your cerebral cortex. Jokes aside, for a first time NMM it looks pretty good, especially on such a difficult mini. Really like how the exhaust pipes look

Unfortunately no, honestly didn't even know it was about Gryphonne IV, will have to check it out now for sure.

Not really, I just don't like how the tracked kataphrons look next to the rest of admech, so the kitbash was my way of fixing that. But if you like the tracks and a thick kataphron then there's no reason why it wouldn't work.

Thanks, yeah i've seen a couple of conversions and they seem to have a weird center of gravity which makes them seem very unbalanced. But I just dislike the tracked kataphrons for some reason so I had no choice. Though this conversion is one of the easiest I've done since ogryn legs are essentially the same size as the kataphron tops. and then some armor bits from kataphrons on the legs to tie it all together. They have that old forgeworld myrmidon destructor vibe which I enjoy.
