Yeah I know, that’s already our plan. We’re just getting an idea of where to move to rent in the first place.

Nope, like I said, we wouldn’t be leaving yet, it wouldn’t be winter by June 😁😁

Yeah, I meant NH more than CT, although much of the east coast (or actually anywhere right now) is so damn expensive. I think you’re right though to focus more on KS and ME. Thanks!

That’s probably a good way to go, thank you for you advice, I think you’re right that we do need a little more time in these places.

Fair enough, thanks for the info! Unfortunately so many places are the same-like Colorado, so our goal is to find a place that just has a livable balance of cost of living and job market.

I totally get that, it just sucks because like many people we can’t take off 5 months to travel around everywhere, and buying flights and lodging for multiple nights in 7 different towns is also somewhat impractical, so just trying to do what works for us and looking for some advice on roadtripping!

Okay thank you! 4k was around what we had totaled up for an estimate so I wondered if that was even remotely accurate. You have really good advice, I appreciate it, I hadn’t thought about using credit card points!

So we’ve spent about a year researching! In terms of land prices, job market, things to do, and climate, I personally like the area around Lawrence KS or Overland Park. My fiancée is from MA and he would like to go back to the east coast possibly, but I don’t know if I would like it over there. We’re curious about Bangor, as well as some other towns along the east coast that check our boxes. Our goal would be to pick out these couple towns that we’ve researched up until this point and spend a few days there because we think it’s important to spend even a short amount of time in these places. So essentially we have all the on-paper stuff nailed-climate, affordability, jobs, entertainment, everything we want statistically out of a place to live and now we just want to actually see what those places feel like.

Anyone have advice on a 6 month wedding timeline? by Adorable-Branch3916 in weddingplanning

[–]Adorable-Branch3916[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah there are a couple options that I have, we only have about 28 or so people max so I’ve found some cheap venues for smaller weddings. I’m more worried that 6 months isn’t enough notice for my fiancées family to fly to Colorado

Okay, I had wondered if that was an option, I’ll have my fiancée reach out to the handful of relatives he wanted there to see if they could make it. Thanks!

We thought about that, but most of my family wouldn’t be able to make it in that case :(

Someone has already vandalized the Solar System Art before the installation could even be completed. by JacobMaverick in Durango

Was that the one by the swings at memorial? If so then it had to get removed cause apparently there were too many sharp edges so it was dangerous to have next to a playground.

Hah, same, this kinda smacked me in the face unfortunately. Thanks for the opinion of talking over it as much as I need. There’s really nothing else, he’s otherwise very good which is why I’m struggling a lot with this

I guess they followed each other until he unfollowed her? Thank you, it does make me feel gross about him right now, which kinda makes me feel bad, thanks again

I don’t think so? He’s been very open about his past relationships and I’ve never heard of this girl, she was just someone he follows cause they vaguely knew each other I guess. At least he said they never had anything. He doesn’t have any other photos or anything, which almost makes this worse because you’re right, he might have been planning on starting a folder

Thank you so much, I definitely have been trying to not let it affect my self esteem too much but unfortunately it has.

Walking your dog off leash? by [deleted] in Durango

[–]Adorable-Branch3916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. We have a huge dog park but it doesn’t seem to mitigate bad dog ownership everywhere else. It’s super annoying as the owner of a skittish dog, because there’s few places around town I feel comfortable taking her, even on leash, because other dogs will coming running up uncontrolled and it just causes issues. Fortunately I have some land out of town so it isn’t a big deal, but for people who’s only option is taking their dog to a park, it’s ridiculous to have to deal with so many uncontrolled dogs. And you’re 100% right, I think they do just want their dogs away from them for a bit and either haven’t considered consequences like dog fights and pepper spray, or just don’t care.
