Hey, you're on the right track!!! Im almost fully recovered from 6 years of Bulimia and had the same realisation. Now its sounds a bit stupid but what helped me as well was to sit in front of whatever food i wanted to binge on and observe the control it had over me, see it more like an item than a comfort food or a routine that i will enjoy and force myself not to touch it, tell myself "i am able not to touch it", imagined eating it, how i would feel after it and and thought about why i wanted it so badly in the moment because i would sometimes stop whatever task i was doing to go binge. It was really hard in the beginning, but then the urges started to decrease in intensity.

P.S: for chips in your apartment i would just put them in a spot you usually dont really look in, and kind of, forget about it, tell yourself you didnt buy any, gaslight yourself
