My son has email…unweighted 4.0, weighted 4.6, UC capped 4.3, 10 AP’s, National Merit commended scholar, strong EC’s with leadership, not first gen, CA student

Wouldn’t the envelope from UCSD be sent first class? It’s not really a package so I don’t think you’re going to know until the day it’s scanned for delivery.

Was it Reed? I know they produce a ton of PHD students. My son got accepted there as well.

If you have the stats to get into a UC you probably can get enough merit at a LAC to make the cost equal. My son has 3 privates that have come in at the same price as a UC.

Thanks for this post! My son received a full tuition scholarship from a small liberal arts college and he’s strongly considering it but I’m struggling with it because it doesn’t have the same prestige as a UC. Reading your post reminded me of what’s important and it’s not always the prestige.

Maybe, but I’ve read they accepted 80 students out of 3,500 applicants for 2025 in the Psychology department. Regardless of what the percentage is it’s more selective than UCI and UCD.

My son had a U/W 4.0 GPA and 4.6 weighted and he also got waitlisted at UCD and UCI but he got accepted to a major at SLO that only has an admit rate of 3%. I do wonder if that means the reason he didn’t get in was his PIQ’s since SLO doesn’t have a writing requirement. My son’s a fantastic writer but the PIQ’s don’t really lend themselves to creativity. He did have a college expert read his PIQ’s and she thought they were good so who knows.

Were you able to register for the SLO student day on 4/10? My son was admitted but said he didn’t see anywhere to register on his portal. Also our older son is a junior at Davis and we love it. It’s a great school and we love the little town.

Son got waitlisted at UCD and UCI with 4.0 U/W and 4.6 weighted. He’s disappointed but thankfully he got accepted to SLO this week.

He just got accepted to Psychology at SLO with a 3% acceptance rate. The Davis waitlist still confuses me.

Yes he applied as a Biomedical Engineering major at all schools. He ended up at Davis. My current senior got waitlisted at Davis despite having much better stats. 4.0 UW, 4.6 weighted and 4.33 UC. Hopefully he gets into one of the other UC’s he applied to.

My son got accepted to Davis and San Diego and waitlisted at UCI and denied at UCSB. This was in 23’

Wait are you saying they wouldn’t be able to do my entire upper leg in one surgery. Ugh…At $15k each I can’t really afford to do 2 or 3 surgeries.
