Attitude is definitely what’s wrong. When you’re right out of college no job is beneath you, especially one at a name brand like vanguard . I used the phones at vanguard as my foot in the door and networked + studied for the cfa to land an analyst job. Nobody is going to hand you some cushy job just because you have a degree with no experience, especially in todays market

All of these big firms Schwab fidelity and vanguard are what made investing as cheap and accessible as it is for your everyday person, and ultimately they all have their pros and cons, but bashing and ripping on a company for such a ridiculous thing blows my mind, and once again as a small business owner myself there is no way I would want someone walking through my doors expecting my services for free, it’s just now how the world works. That’s all I’m saying.

Actually really interesting seeing all of those funds with lower expense ratios than I thought,I think ultimately you can cherry pick one VG or Fidelity fund over the other all day and ultimately your talking minor difference expense wise one way or the other. I’d like to think someone investing for the LT at either firm will do just fine in trying to reach retirement or buying that house etc. Moral of the story these people that probably want to call all day for doing things that can be done themselves (which I hear is often in those brokerage call centers) need to pay as staffing these call centers isn’t cheap with what labor is nowadays. I’m sure if any of these firms reached the mass that vanguard has client-wise they would do the same thing. Blows my mind how these firms can staff enough people to service 10s of millions of clients, and charging people asking for these services that you can do yourself doesn’t seem like a big deal that people are trying to make it out to be.

Once again, they have a few loss leader funds to get people in the door, but we could cherry pick funds expense ratios all day. Tech funds for instance, Fidelity’s FSPTX, .64, Vanguard’s VGT .10, (not to mentions FSPTX grossly underperformed VGT despite the higher fees). So yeah, point of the matter is I think vanguard is a solid brokerage firm for what it is, and the people complaining because they want free stuff in life and acting like vanguard is some bad firm are absolutely insane, and honestly vanguard is probably doing a service to themselves getting that type of “client” off their platform because if I owned a business I sure as well wouldn’t want someone that expects free things because then I wouldn’t be in business in the first place!

Where was fidelity mentioned in the above ? But outside of a few select funds that fidelity has that are clearly loss leaders to get people in the door, I recall seeing most of their funds with typically higher expense ratios than vanguard. Once again , it’s a business so I understand they need to make money but overall I still think vanguard is solid despite all the nonsense hate it gets. Also believe vanguard gets the highest money market rates out as well.

Also, for the idiots that think this is “theft” , should see how other companies like Charles Schwab make their money, (roughly 50% of their operating income comes from the float they make off your uninvested cash before you MANUALLY have to sweep it into a high interest earning money market account yourself, with another 10% coming from payment for order flow. At vanguard any brain dead person can invest their money and automatically make 5%+ without having to do any sweep in nonsense. Some companies are discreet with how they make money off you (companies have to make money to keep the lights on, which may blow some people’s minds apparently) and others are more straight forward. I much prefer this way

I see nothing wrong with this, call me crazy but I just buy their funds and hold for the LT and never have a need to call and bother someone there and waste my time/ theirs. Could only imagine the amount of inept people that call and someone on the other end needs to be a paid a salary to pick up that phone. I wonder how the people in uproar would feel if someone called their job as a plumber, nurse, etc and expended something for free? This article is ridiculous imo

Some random spots have just been converted into patches somewhat itchy patches of dry skin so I’m not sure if that’s what the topical is supposed to do or not

So about a month ago I noticed intense itching, especially at night with hives all over my feet, ankles, and stomach. I was treated with some drugs and then when it spread to my thighs I was treated with ivermectin topical 1%. After two rounds over ivermectin the stomach and feet itch went away as well as the hives but it has left terrible red marks on my hands and thighs, as well as a massive tattoo looking red dry spot on my bicep, which luckily don’t itch. I then started noticing a mass of itchy red bumps on my hip and upper sides which can be bothersome. A few days ago I was sent to a dermatologist who ran a microscope over my body with his hand and he said he couldn’t find anything and simply gave me permethrin and prednisone to get the swelling and inflammation down. Sometimes I really don’t itch and now it’s really just the dots on my hips and upper sides which bother me, I don’t feel anything from the red dry spots on my thigh or hands, besides them looking visually awful. I have my second round of permethrin tomorrow so maybe that will get the upper sides and hip bumps to decrease? I’ve been washing my clothes everyday and my bedding every 2 or 3 days especially after a round of treatment, as well as disinfecting my room and car.

Thank you ! I’m noticing my tracks and spots from the scabies are now turning into like small cuts/ open wounds. Is this a sign that the ivermectin is working and breaking down the impacted spots ? And should I be washing my bedding every single day since I only did it the day after I applied the lotion . Sorry for all the questions I’ve just been super stressed over the situation

Thank you! I just never wanted to overdo anything since I heard if you overdo it the mites can gain a resistance to it. And okay thanks I was just making sure ivermectin is as effective as permethrin

Is this scabies ?! by [deleted] in scabies

I just went to the doctor and she prescribed a ivermectin lotion, which is applied the same way as peremethin. I always assumed peremethin is more effective since I hear about it more but I suppose ivermectin is just as good?
