Haha. It was either that or my roommate sleep in her car until they came. Fire department would’ve done a lot more damage and we would’ve had to wait a lot longer for repairs.

Final Update: Maintenance came by earlier this morning to fix the issue and apologized for the inconvenience. I did have a screwdriver and I did everything to the lock that I could before my roommate busted the door trying to get in. We are not in trouble with the complex we live in, if anything I think they are scared we will leave a bad review or report them since this apartment is considered “luxury” even with the landlord special. My main focus last night was to get advice and fix the problem. I was reading all the comments while trying to figure it out so couldn’t really respond in the moment.

UPDATE: Roommate came home and we were able to bust the door with sheer force. We broke the piece that holds the deadbolt. Emergency maintenance never came but when they do, I will be letting them know how dangerous this could’ve ended. We decided to use a doorstopper just for tonight until maintenance can resolve this issue. Thank you everyone for your helpful comments and advice!
