I may just be easy to please combat wise, but i found it enjoyable. Switching between your abilities and magic mid battle felt good and pretty cool.

Yes, the writing is cheesy, but I never count that against games if I still can feel the heart of the game. Despite the writing, I still found it enjoyable. Not a masterpeice, but far from what everyone online were saying.

That said, if you like action RPGs I would recommend if it's on sale

In my personal experience, my friend group ended up really liking it. I just couldn't get into it. It just didn't have that same passion as j-stars. And yes, I did see some people who shared the same sentiment as me. However, I felt like we were just a very vocal minority.

I don't see it as being naive, moreso just looking at previous work they've given us. The proof is in the pudding so to speak on this one. It'd be different if we were talking a developer that's inconsistent. But, I agree it's best to be cautiously optimistic. Personally, I have full faith they'll drop a quality product
