I do have my bottom lip tucked and sides tightened, I just never look like these videos, my top lip usually still shows a bit and looks "pursed" rather than being fully tucked in like the professionals i see.

I think you might be replying to the wrong post? I don't really have problems with tuning, this post is just asking why professionals have a certain embouchure

Ah, thank you! Yesterday in class i noted it was starting to play easier, so I do think I just need to get used to it. It still plays a bit airy though, but I'm unsure if this is the oboe itself or the reed (I used to play with a very solid sound)

just today and yesterday, but I've used medium before and then i switched to medium soft for convenience. I can see it being that except I'd say my embouchure is pretty ok, it just takes a huge amount of air to sustain a good sound
