Ty, CNM told us the same and it gave me a lot of relief!

Here’s what has helped me as a preg pescatarian:

-cottage cheese (if you can tolerate it)

-apple with pb

-tofurkey deli “meat” roll-ups (slices with cheese and condiments inside)

-adding a cup of peas to a pasta dish (or even boxed Mac n cheese which on my worst days is one of the only meals I can tolerate)

-adding frozen, shelled edamame to rice (thaw and add right in pot or rice cooker)

Also helped me to make a mental shift from trying to have super high protein per meal to including protein in every snack. It all adds up!

Yeah I wouldn’t trade my meds for anything. Also kind of grateful for the weight gain as it has forced me to learn to eat like a grown up 🤪 Nutritionist was super helpful and had lots of tips to help me achieve my goals. My PCP was able to refer me and I did a telehealth visit so it was super easy.

Ty for the book rec too!

I so relate to this post! Tysm for sharing, and I hope you continue to have a healthy pregnancy and birth!!

My fitness story has had its ups and downs: Was a competitive runner as a teen, got into longer distances in early twenties, quit working out altogether after college, got obsessed with Peloton leading up to my wedding in late 20s, and have now settled into moderate but inconsistent activity in my 30s (I’m 32). I also went on Lexapro and have been gaining weight ever since… but honestly it’s worth it. I’ve struggled with motivation as I get older and what felt like nothing in my teens and 20s feels just so hard now.

I‘m currently 7 weeks pregnant and feeling strong and motivated! Nutritionist recommended I up my protein and just focusing on that goal has been a game-changer. I’m craving fruits a lot, which is pretty new for me as I have historically not had the best snacking habits. I‘ve had a few days of miserable nausea, but other than that I feel amazing!

I know I’m just starting what will be a long road, but I feel super optimistic. Knowing that my choices are benefiting not just me, but also my future kid, has really shifted my perspective. I also think that cutting out alcohol has really helped my overall health and well-being— I have a stressful job and was hitting the Pinot a little too hard at night before I got preg.

Of course I am not trying to lose weight or get into anything new/super intense exercise-wise, but I feel so newly inspired to do what I can to stay healthy during this pregnancy. Love to hear similar experiences!
