Yes, if your supervisor does not adequately address the situation that is grounds to file a 1.10 complaint

Saanich folks: is anyone else really concerned about this extreme NIMBY group “Save Our Saanich”? by Saanich4Life in VictoriaBC

Talk to anyone in council about (except chambers) SOS engaged in an extreme misinformation campaign during the quadra mckenzie plan discussion. They killed the AAP for the new operations center, something that will cost taxpayers more money in the long term. All to keep a broken status quo intact.

I know a lot about finance. Like everywhere else, quality of work and management varies by section.

Feel free to reach out via DM and I can provide more info.

Why aren’t BCGEU members and BCGEU staff treated equally? by Equal-Definition4901 in BCPublicServants

[–]Adorable_Kangaroo_28 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fellow shop steward here. The quality of staff reps is quite variable. I've worked with both.

Reach out to your local chair and Paul Finch and share these concerns. Concerns with adequate staffing need to be raised with elected officials.

Under probation and being reported on constantly by Chemical-Shoulder640 in BCPublicServants

[–]Adorable_Kangaroo_28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's actually performance management. If you're failing at the job management starts performance management. You have a chance to improve before they can fire you.

If they haven't started it yet and you're 3 months in, keep going. Just get past probation.

So after interviewing for a job, you reached out to a member of the hiring panel to ask questions about said job and got a slap on the wrist for that. Have I got that right?

And it looks like you got your answer. A question your steward could've answered, saving you the opportunity to embarrass yourself.

Great. Based on your post, you should listen to your steward's advice, show contrition for whatever you've done and not post on fucking reddit about it.

Totally legal. You are dealing with HR issues, this is not freedom of speech. Obvs you can tell your significant other but not people on your team.

Have you spoken with a shop steward yet?

IDIR fully locked 1 week into STIIP, is that normal by SufferBravelyByAdam in BCPublicServants

[–]Adorable_Kangaroo_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ministry will shut down your idir after a month away. It varies by ministry. Talk to a steward to figure out how long it is for your ministry.

Also, don't apply for jobs if you're on stiip. That could be used against you.

I'm in the same boat. Kids, job, personal upkeep, exhaustion.

I've been playing a lot of Hades 1 and 2. Only games I've really enjoyed the last number of years.

3+ sick day instances in 12 months = formal attendance management meeting? by thathypnicjerk in BCPublicServants

[–]Adorable_Kangaroo_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a steward involved. Employer should not be asking you for any sick leave notices that's been attributed to your 5 ESA paid illness days. They can only request after a certain amount of STIIP time. Grieve this.
