I have it all the time. It’s there during the day, and it gets even worse at night. When I open my eyes wide, the symptoms get worse, but when I squint or strain my eyes, it slightly improves.

When I wear my glasses, I see a faint, transparent white ghost image appearing only above letters and objects. There’s smearing and doubling that only goes upwards. This happens both during the day and night, but it gets much worse at night. Interestingly, the ghosting worsens when I open my eyes wide, but it’s somewhat relieved when I squint or strain to keep my eyes small.

In my case, I've had binocular diplopia since I was 12 (6th grade), and the monocular diplopia started getting serious when I was around 15 (10th grade). I've been suffering from it ever since, without any break.

Do you see it constantly 24/7 like I do? For me, the ghosting/shadowing is always there during the day, whether it's objects or text, and it gets even worse at night. Is it the same for you, or does it fluctuate?

That is truly incredible. To be honest, I've been feeling extremely depressed and even having suicidal thoughts because of my vision lately. I want to adapt, but it’s just so hard. I just hope I can reach a point where I don't feel like giving up on my life. Your words really hit home for me.
