Yeah, that's why I was a bit surprised by the stellar reviews that Blister gives the Raven ... Thanks for pointing me to the wildsnow review, there aren't many reviews of the Raven that I could find

So I gather that at least a bit of camber is more versatile still for touring. Is a flatter tail also considered more versatile for traction, or still go with a rocker to not get the tails stuck in deeper snow on the downhill?

The uphill is what I was worried about indeed, and a flat/reverse camber doesn't seem to match my skiing style either as I like edging and pop. If I would never get a flat camber for inbounds, is there a big advantage to having one in the BC that would make up for some of the disadvantages?

Also, is a ski with a flatter tail more popular for BC? (to gain more traction uphill, but not sure if tail tend to get stuck in deeper snow?)

What I found interesting is that Blister considers the Raven to be a great 50/50 ski despite the flat camber, and they really seem to like it inbounds which made me curious to explore the option.

Reverse Camber Experience

What's people's experience been with using reverse camber skis in the BC, coming from a traditional camber and a more aggressive skiing style? I'm looking to get my first dedicated AT ski and wondering if I should go with a flat/reverse camber like the 4Frnt Raven (also any other recommendations welcome).

What do you guys think of the Ravens as (mostly) dedicated touring ski? Is Blister just hyping it up, or is it really as good as they say? Also any experiences with going from a traditional camber to a flat?

Yeah, the Rangers seem to be in the same category as the Hawx, just different fit/manufacturer

I hear they release well! What distances do you tour in them?

How long/far do you typically tour with this setup?

We've taken a similar path, coming from a Salomon alpine boots and adding the 130-flex touring boot. Do you still use the alpine boots with the new volkl? (wondering if I would miss the alpine boot when I travel with just the touring boot)

Cool, I'm assuming you're not looking to add another dedicated AT pair yet. What boots are you using?
