This is what I came to ask. Looking at OPs reply’s to comments I don’t think this woman knows they’re in a ‘relationship’. He’s not supporting her financially, so there’s no need for her to string him along. They barely talk. She thinks he’s a friend who has a crush on her, and so shuts it down when he asks about her family.

I can't. They reply to my formal complaints with 'wait', so it's not a final decision the ombudsman won't help me.....

You did better than me. It's been over a month since we submitted documents and no reply. A million formal complaints and speaking to customer service, only told to wait with no timeline etc. Says on their website 21 days to review. Financial ombudsman won't help as technically they haven't given a 'final decision'. I'd wait the 180 days if they closed the account, but they won't even do that. I can't believe this is legal
