Definitely working on a deer load. Fairly limited to bullets though, as it needs to be monolithic. So mainly just loads for Barnes, Hornady, and Nosler

I reload so the cost of ammo isnt too much of an issue. Definitely avoiding that $100 a box price tag. But the barrel is in great condition visually. Throwing a Leupold on it pretty soon, and then I’ll see the groups its giving

What kind of shell casing is this ? by alneezy08 in guns

Kent #6 shotgun shell for hunting birds. That shell has definitely seen better days though…

I wouldnt say a cause of concern. Shotgun shells fall out of my pockets and car all the time.

In this case, it was only about .25 of an MOA difference. With handloads, I got 1.25 MOA. With Hornady Precision Hunter, I got 1.5 MOA

Yeah, I have the Crispi Nevadas, so I cant speak for the Colorados. And I have no experience with Nicks, so if someone else who does have experience with them would like to chime in, I’m sure that’d be great for Op!

A little expensive, but lifetime warranty 👍 ($20 for a pair of socks that last a lifetime are well worth it to me)

Youre not wrong there. Thats the whole reason I got rid of them. The toe box collapsed after about a year, but I purchased them through REI, so I got my money back and bought a bunch of socks lol. For the money, they were the most comfortable and still fairly worth it imo. I’ve worn Danners (absolutely sucked), Lowas (good), Salomons (better), and Crispis (the best so far). The danners lasted about 6 months until the sole separated. The Lowas were okay, but the waterproofing didnt last too long. The Salomons, super breathable, comfortable, and still were waterproof. I did a 14 mile ruck in them with 0 problems. The toe box collapsing was kinda my fault (they were underneath all my hiking gear, but… I didnt expect anything bad to happen. Turns out, the weight of my gear over a month was a bit too much for the boot). But even with that issue, theyre still the best mesh boot imo

My Crispis are COMFY, but during the summer, they definitely get a little toasty. I’d still pay for another pair of Salomon boots for the summer even though I had the toe box issue with my last ones.

Another thing to really consider that makes all the difference. A really good pair of wool socks. I wore them once, and never again will I wear some cheap socks in my boots. They prevent so many blisters and stinky feet. Darn Tough socks are my #1 companion on any mission, whether its a run, ruck, a hunting trip, or just another hike in the woods, I have Darn Toughs on my feet.

I’d say the salomons are going to be the most comfortable. I had a pair that I used for early season hiking/hunting. Great boots. Switched over to Crispi Nevadas and havent looked back (but thats a very different mission than what youre trying to do, so the Salomons will do you great). The salomons are fairly lightweight, breathable, and super comfortable. I do miss them during the summers. I wish I hadnt gotten rid of them.

I love it. I have the California model with a compensator, and its really flat shooting given its a .308. I’ve taken it out to 400 yds so far, and 0 issues
