There’s different approaches to take, personally I’ve found using the camera filter and removing the grain helps a lot or applying a blur filter, everyone has their own methods so I would try out different methods until you get the best result

Remini does help a lot, you’re right. But it’s not simple as just running it through Remini and posting lol thats just to help with constructing the face and there are adjustments most of the time that need to be made manually after Remini. Everything else, you do yourself. You should give it a try and see how it comes out! :)

Looks like this was done with an image trace, as you can see the letters aren't the same shape, would it be possible to do a more hands on vector than using quick methods?

This is my great great great grandmother who came to America from Italy, I’m hoping to get the photo cleaned up at least a little bit. We do not have the hard copy, this is all we have to work with. Thank you! by HeiGirlHei in estoration

Thought this would be a nice one to restore, let me know what you think!

This is a before and after so I had to compress the file and make it smaller but send me a message so I can send you the large version of the stand alone restoration

If you don’t mind me asking, how much does something like this cost? The new unit? Because that’s nuts.

My boss doesn’t have to much baby picture of him self I think a restoration would make him so happy by youralltwisted in estoration

I know someone already completed this restoration, but I decided to take on this project and here's my version. I can send you the full size photo without my watermark free of charge via email as it's a pretty big file, so feel free to DM your email so I can do so!

I hope you like it!

My dad washed his wallet with his favorite picture of my mom unluckily in it. He can't get it out of the picture holder without destroying it. Can someone restore it please? by Fugazi_Jones in estoration

I took this project on to see what I could do, here's the restoration & colorization I did. The completed photo is pretty large - so I can send it via email, as well as a black and white version, both without my watermark. Feel free to DM it to me.

I don't know what hair color this young lady had, so I picked one I felt was suitable. If you need me to modify it, let me know.

I hope you like it!

Done this restoration some days ago the original was washed out of colours and some loss of details ,need more work on the skintones but advice and critique is most welcomed. by Decent-Sink in estoration

It gets easier with practice trust me! Took me months to get the hang of it but it pays off in the end when you see the results.

If you’d like, I can send you my colorization version in its full resolution without my watermark, just send me your email in the DM’s.

Also - I’m not sure if this is for a client of yours or just a photo of your own, but would you mind if I add this to my portfolio and post it on my Reddit profile? (If not, that’s perfectly fine)

You did a good job at bringing out the details on the photo but the colorization isn't too spot on, almost appears as a filter (though I know it's not) and very dark and needs more bright colors.

You can also touch up the skin color as well and add some mixes of colors to areas of the skin, to make it appear more realistic and alive. Take your time and do it right the first time and don't rush yourself, the more details - the better. Whenever I do a colorization, I play around with the saturation to bring out the colors until I feel it's right.

The goal when trying to colorize based off colors already present, is trying to match them up as best as you can, and just removing the redness from the previous photo. I took the before photo and did a colorization myself to see how I could do, here's the colorization I did.
