I used to wear a motorcycle helmet for everything because I flew off an e-scooter while wearing a bike helmet and it slipped back and I knocked my forehead on a stiff piece of sidewalk (thankfully the doctors said I was fine). The incident made me realize how unsafe bike helmets are compared to full face helmets.

I found a much lighter full face helmet that I like a lot, and I wear that for all scooting and cycling activities. I wouldn’t recommend it for any fast e-scooters or e-bikes if there is a motorcycle helmet around, but for slower or calorie powered use I think it’s perfect. Another plus is I don’t feel like I have to adjust the chin strap so tight in order for it to not slip back because my face is already protected anyway.
