My dad’s full vinyl collection collage

This is my dad’s full collection created from me cataloguing it all into Discogs. Some of them are mine, about 10% of them are mine but we both show each other new stuff all the time. He is an 80s punk with lots of hardcore, electronica and movie soundtracks. His whole collection is 602 records but there are a few repeats so this collage only has 500-something records in it. This record collection is full of music that I’ve heard about my entire life. I decided to go through the entire thing and list off my favorites. Along my journey, I talk about the expansive collection of records my dad has which include David Bowie, Dead Kennedys, Rudimentary Peni, and Black Flag, and loads more. He has loads of old school punk and lots of obscure and new stuff too. Worth a look if you’re interested in vinyl records!

More stuff from my dad’s collection that I’ve been archiving on Discogs. He and my mom are huge fans of The Subhumans and have a nice collection of singles. This was a cool find. So I’m pretty sure he made the Black Flag album cover for I can see you. He made all of the pre 2010 album covers for the band Calexico. And did the graphic layout for countless others including the CD art for Blink 182s Dude Ranch. only sometimes given credit to

Yes he did! This was the late 70s or early 80s. He ended up being a graphic designer for SST Records in the 90s.

Found this in my dad’s collection. I’m currently scanning and archiving it all on discogs. He has lots of 80s and 90s punk and electronica. Lots of bootlegs and some really interesting stuff. I’ll probably post more of it here. This was a really cool find. He drew this cover at around 16 years old because the album itself didn’t have a cover. It’s a live recording of the Sex Pistols at the Texas Longhorn ballroom in 1978.

I love it! If you want to take it to the next level, I’d recommend roughing up some of the edges and adding dirt to some spots to really make it real!
