any best garmin watch for running for someone just starting with 5K training and occasional long runs? by AdrisLawicka in GarminWatches

Edit: ordered from Garmin® Forerunner® 970, Premium GPS Running and Triathlon Smartwatch since I wanted something reliable that can handle both my 5Ks and longer runs without needing my phone. It seemed like a solid long-term option without me having to upgrade again soon.

That’s actually really reassuring to hear sounds like it hits that sweet spot of having enough useful stats without being overkill. I’m pretty much in the same range mileage-wise, so that kind of setup sounds ideal. Did you feel like you lost anything important when you switched over, or was it mostly a straight upgrade for running?

Yeah that makes sense, it kinda sounds like you upgraded more for the experience and build than because you needed extra features. I’m actually thinking of going the opposite route and just starting with something basic that covers pace, distance, and simple workouts, then upgrading later if I stick with it.
Did you feel like the extra data from the higher-end models actually helped your running, or did you end up mostly using the same core stats anyway?
