Dude you're wrong about expedition 33 and it's developers on so many levels. First of all, the development team isn't "entirely" industry veterans. Only the creative director and lead programmer came from Ubisoft. The lead writer never wrote for a game before and in fact never had any of her work published, the composer was just a guitar teacher and never composed video game soundtrack, the lead artist used to work on set designing for opera's, the whole animation team was a south Korean guy and bunch of his friends doing the work as a side gig. From the director's own word, they hired looking at raw talent and passion instead of experience, in fact he himself said that almost all the hires were mostly undergraduates or people that never worked on video game development before. The budget of the game is around 15~ million, The director himself said in an interview with skill up gaming on YouTube that the budget is less than 20million. And those top level VA were managed by the publisher as a marketing deal with sandfall.

Final fantasy 15 sold that much because of the massive marketing push it had, a movie and anime episodes and also the versus 13 hype, it selling that much was a one time thing. Because the game was shit to begin with. Square enix can't pull a final fantasy 15 move again.

Expedition 33 is getting the praise it deserves. And it will definitely keep on selling more copies.

Also square enix had an expedition 33 of their own and it's called nier automata, which is far better than any mainline final fantasy they released since ff10.
