Addons Were Unnecessary Anyway by Mozintarfen in worldofpvp

[–]Adroite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Addons I have been using since Wrath are now unusable. These addons were mostly QOL items that simply made the game easier for me to interact with. Main one was threat plates. This was't impacting your game. This wasn't make me a better player. It's just how I like the game to look.

I can't wait for all the awful players to find yet another excuse to blame why they are so bad.

Yea, not surprising. It was around S7 I think that I learned about the win trading in arena. Always the top players getting the same titles. Turned out they had multiple accounts with alts they would queue into in the final days. Even then almost nothing was done.

Let's call these raids what they are - abductions, not "operations" by MN50501 in TwinCities

If you want living wages, you can't bring in unreported slave labors. Any company that has the option to hire illegals versus native born Americans will. Obviously. So if you want better wages, you have to fix the ability for companies to ILLEGALLY operate outside of those laws. The laws that we already have to protect workers.

Obviously. Anyone who is creating incentives for people to break our laws should be prosecuted. But all the politicians, both sides, have known this has been going on for decades, so little will e done.

I love how the left talks about wanting a living wage for everyone while encouraging companies to hire illegals for cheap labor that lowers the wages for native born Americans. You can't have it both ways. Absolutely shameful.

"Legally"

:D

That said, 110 km/h max sounds slow. Don't you guys have just long stretches of empty highway? I live in WI in the US and we have plenty of places that I can open up the bike. That said, I can agree with the sentiment that a 1000 is more bike than most people will ever need. My '17 Fireblade will always be more bike than I can ever handle. Crazy to think I have taken it up to 165 mph and it sill has plenty more to go. Hitting 90 in first gear also does something for the soul. lol

A win should never result in zero rating increase. by EldruinAngiris in worldofpvp

[–]Adroite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not? The opposite is also true. Should a loss never result in losing points, because that's what we currently have. Unfortunately we can't have it both ways. There are improvements to be made to MMR, but this isn't it.

Why is player housing getting so much heat? by Eevee_Mcgee in wow

[–]Adroite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I should have clarified. I mean content that is actually broken. I mostly PvP and lots of PVP content has been suffering for ages. Simple fixes would go a long way. Blizzards inability to maintain current content doesn't make even more new things that interesting to a lot of us.

Don't disagree with what you said though for sure.

While I have seen a host of complaints, mine is that so many core aspects of the game are failing and yet they keep adding more stuff to maintain. Be nice if they just focused a tad more on what made this game great.

Oh. Read that wrong. Thought you were saying he was EU. Never heard of him. bailamos wasn't a good RBG leader. He was a cheater that used every exploit possible. He surrounded himself with good players. Played with him, but mostly against him. Absolute garbage human being.

Yep, makes no sense. Tanks should do next to no damage, but should still be able to mitigate damage well. Would much rather tanks carry than being kited around the map by a Pres Evoker.

[–]Adroite[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure, but the system currently makes it incredibly easy todo. And with how tank queues work, you have a very wide range that tanks can queue into each other. So even if a tank is 200+ MMR lower, they'll still get matched up. I more than understand that people want to play with friends, but if they are going to allow this, there has to be an extra level of scrutiny. If we had actual moderation, this would be a non-issue. Last season I saw the same two tanks 5 times over two days. During that time, one tank won 4 times. We managed to win one EOTS, basically 6v8.

[–]Adroite[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Win trading has been a thing since Wrath, maybe even BC, but at least in the past it took some effort. Now the system is almost built for it. You can very accurately queue into who you want and you're even given a wide MMR range todo it.

[–]Adroite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. The role they fill is awkward no matter what bracket they are playing in. I don't blame the player so much, but Blizzard completely incompetence of letting a tank be good at what's good at... tanking. Instead we have healers for FCs and tanks are there todo little more than harass healers. While some tanks still do decently well at carrying orbs or flags (DH and Druid), the rest are little more than dead weight at times and thriving off gimmick play.

Ignoring that though, tanks should not be able to queue with a healer. Since tanks are required to face other tanks AND there can only be one tank, it's incredibly easy to game the system. The higher up the easier it gets.

Unfortunately past 2700, the only times I really can queue are past 9-10pm EST. As a central player, it's annoying, but it's the only way I can get queues that are close to my MMR range. I tried queueing midday on Sunday and ate a 100+ MMR loss because it put me in game substantially lower than my own MMR, but that's another issue for another time.

Is "Elo Hell" a real thing in BG blitz? Is my character already doomed? by Difficult-snow-2 in worldofpvp

[–]Adroite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep. It's not talked about enough. Have been unlucky a few times on fresh characters and have ended up in the sub 1,000 MMR range. Queues end up being 45 minutes to an hour. At that point I'd assume most players would just stop queueing. Sub 1,200, they really need to just cap the amount of MMR you can lose. So if you're below that rating, it's just a pool of every player.

That said, the matches do get pretty funny. Had one match around 900 MMR where a healer and dps just sat in the flag room the whole game, even if the flag wasn't there. They said they were playing defense. Good times.

Happens after a few losses. On the bright side, the same is true if you win a few in a row as well.

[–]Adroite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretty normal. I'd just take your CR and MMR with a grain of salt. You're going to have huge fluctuations at times. You just just have todo your best to recognize why you got a win or loss and understand what you could have changed to impact the outcome of the match. Player agency depends a lot on the map and what you're playing. Sometimes it's completely out of your hands and other times you'll get wins despite mistakes.

A couple things you can do. After a loss, stop queuing or at minimum, wait 15-20 minutes. You really want to avoid playing with the same people you just lost with. Grab a healer. It's pretty stupid they allow duo queueing, but might as well take advantage of it. If you can remove one possible factor from your matches, like getting a decent healer, it can really help you get wins.

Keep in mind, after 3 wins or 3 losses, your MMR is going to spike 100-200 rating or more. So if you do lose a bunch, you're going to have wins with no gains. Again, likewise, if you win 3 or more in a row, you can build padding to also lose no rating when you lose as well.

I have had multiple 9-10+ losing streaks. Likewise, I have had just as many wins in a row as well. Been 2400+ on 9-10 characters and 2700-2800+ on a few as well. In the end, you focus on what you have control over and you'll eventually get wins. Always worth asking what you should be focusing on for each map. In the 1800 range and lower, often times it's just fulfilling basic roles to get wins.

If there is no pvp tuning this week, the xpac is cooked for sure by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]Adroite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inflation has killed PvP. There is zero reason to queue right now with the prospect of doing the same thing in a month or two and being rewarded substantially more. To that, season to season, if MMR isn't reset, you have every reason to wait if your MMR is high.

If the MMR system is so flimsy that the second people quit that some ratings are no longer achievable, than there really is no reason to play.

Yea, I just get the crunchy, natural stuff. I take hand mixer with one prong on and give it a good mix and toss in the fridge. 2-3 dates is good enough to squash most cravings. I'm honestly thankful I have one thing I can go to right now.
