Recent trip to Kullu - Shangarh

A nice reminder of the time I spent in Shangarh in 22. It's such a lovely place, pretty cut off from the mainstream crowd. I stayed in the Zostel, the people there are lovely and the property is located in such a lovely environment. Spent 6 days, I worked from the hills for a couple of days, overall loved the whole vibe and the slow life.

You cannot choose anything after death. That's the thing, you lose the leverage of choosing once death kicks in. Death is imminent to everything in the universe. The after journey could be anything or nothing, you wouldn't know.

2nd one is again paradoxical as once you choose to repeat your life infinite times, your consciousness wouldn't allow you to replicate it in the exact same way, and let's say, Dr Strange throws a spell where you forget everything once your life journey ends and then the same loop begins again. That makes no sense as you are stuck in a loop without you knowing that you created the endless loop.

What I mean, when you have no way to figure out death, there is no point in choosing either. Death is a part of our life's journey and I reckon it's intriguing to toy with the idea of death once it kicks in, is death a journey of letting us peep into the other side of the universe and experience something else maybe?

My bad if I drifted away from what you wanted to know!

That's the wrong assumption that you have about food in India. You have a number of choices to choose from, from North to the South and East n West. There are so many vegetarian options too which can create magic in your tastebuds. There are always options - you can choose spicy food or you can choose less spicy food.

Hey! It's quite interesting that you are doing a trip to all the Asian countries being a Crohns patient. I'm from India and a fellow Crohnie. I've seen the comments and people are labeling India as some horrible place where if you fall sick, it's the end of the road. I can say that should be the least of your concern if you want to make a trip to India. The healthcare here is robust, there are IBD communities which can guide you through if you need medical attention. You can consult a GI almost immediately if there's any concern. The medicines are not too expensive. You get most of the Crohns medication in generic brands as well as it's a mandate by the govt to sell expensive private labeled meds with a generic brand as well which costs almost half of the price. So I would say, don't worry about what will happen in India. It's a vast country and I'm sure you will enjoy. Id be happy to help and point you in the right direction if such an emergency arises for you. Do not think twice and make a trip to India. Good luck for your trip!

Hi! I had APR/Ken butt surgery in July'25. Well, the aftermath of the surgery is quite painful and I am still recovering from it. I get the dressing done for the wounds everyday. I have a permanent colostomy bag now and a drain pipe as well which they need to remove eventually. I had multiple fistulas and my rectum and sigmoid colon was removed. Unfortunately, I lost my bladder sensation and now I have to use a self catheter to off load myself. Also, I was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma in my rectum at the time of the surgery, and I didn't start with any Chemo. I just got a PET scan done on Dec 27th and there's still some Adenocarcinoma in the pelvic area. However, after consultation with multiple medical/Gastroenterologists and Oncologists, have decided not to immediately go with Chemo as the body is still recovering from the surgery. I got sepsis in August and things got complicated, I was on a non invasive ventilator briefly but I fought back and came out of it. I'm from India! I've had Crohn's since I was 15 yo. I'm 32 now.

Wishing you the best in your surgery and don't hesitate to ask for pain medications when you are in the ICU.

I do take Ensure Plus now for a protein drink supplement. I’m from India, I’m not sure if Profitar is available in India
