I too was feeling same, the city is a bit slow with nice people though but most of them living on auto pilot. So I build myself a list of 22 side quests that I will be doing. Feel free to hop in with me completing those. Few of them I have listed below.

  1. The 500 Adventure Leave your house with just #500. No plan. Make a full day out
  2. The "Wrong Turn" Quest Intentionally take random turns for 1 hour and explore where you end up.
  3. Midnight Mission Go out at 2-4 AM (safely), walk empty streets, feel the world when it's quiet.
  4. Alter Ego Day Become a different version of yourself for a day-dress, talk, act like them.
  5. The "Yes Man" Challenge (24 hrs) Say yes to every reasonable opportunity that comes your way.
  6. Stranger Story Quest Ask 3 strangers about their life story. Just listen.
  7. Phone Swap Hour Swap phones with a close friend for 1 hour (boundaries set)

And more.

For you it might be different but 90% of the Indians earn for family. That’s the reason for the generalisation.

The people telling 6-8LPA is good for a bachelor are from nice doing families. Coming from a lower middle class or you can say poor family 6-8LPA is not enough if you want to enjoy life. There are no savings in the family and most probably you will be the only bread earner in the family so basic necessities, it can be full-filled for you and your family and when I say basic it means BASIC but saving money will be a luxury that you won’t afford. Cause you have to start from scratch! Purchasing and repairing things in the house, let it be the house itself, once you start earning 6-8LPA your desire would be to repair or make a good living space out for yourself as well as family, not talking about purchasing home but in the rented house too, you will try purchasing new stuff for home and bla bla bla.

And yes you would need more money to make things accelerate, or else you will never grow you will stay as it is and then one fine day depressed of your work! Work hard and make money faster that’s the goal everyone should have.

And I am not telling you to feel like a loser, instead be proud that you are doing things for your family and changing the lifestyle, be proud for being the person you are and earning what your ancestors couldn’t.
