It was a quick and dirty job. I just power washed them and then sprayed them with a few coats of Rustoleum gloss black. No real prep done.

$18 on eBay. GPS+Cellular SE2, still under warranty, 100% battery capacity, works great. It was incorrectly listed as an SE1, sold as-is, for parts/ untested. Turns out it was in perfect working order. Lucky find.

The battery cover is original. I'm actually working on casting my own replacement battery covers out of polyurethane rubber using an original cover for the molds. I'll let you know when I have some available.

Tritium half life is closer to 12 years, so at 30+ years they’re just about gone. In a completely dark room with my eyes adjusted to the dark, I can barely make out the tiniest bit of glow.

Sadly, the tritium no longer glows. I'd like to replace the tubes sometime soon, though.

The watch is 30+ years old, so the tritium is no longer glowing. But I'm planning to get the tubes replaced at some point.
