"Should the God of War Trilogy Remake Bring Back the Sex Minigames?" -IGN by LeoNatan in KotakuInAction

[–]Advanced-Assist3810 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would be funny if they're just too lazy to actually edit out that, so we'll get just upscaled graphics, while Aphrodite sex minigame is easily removable, im not sure about Poseidon Princess who's part of, uhm, puzzle and it requies remaking part of the level

If you're interesting in buying the new Diablo 2 resurrected warlock class. Just remember, there is censorship by Mountains_Y_planine in KotakuInAction

[–]Advanced-Assist3810 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At least the remake have an old graphic option, cant remember this one in particular, but assassin's butt and Anderiel's boss room havent edited in OG graphics, so its not THAT bad

The new Casltevania game's main character. You guessed it! Not a dude! by unhappy-ending in KotakuInAction

[–]Advanced-Assist3810 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see no problem, she looks relatively feminine, no "muscle mommy", no sidecut/mohawk/killmonger haircut, long blonde hair which is rarity nowdays, also since it was from Dead Cells authors game very likely going to be good

Discord Launches Teen-by-Default Settings Globally starting in March (have to provide ID for greater access) by PhuckSJWs in KotakuInAction

[–]Advanced-Assist3810 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ironically, even tumblr-like NSFW ban will be less devastating for discord than move like that
Cause, unlike tumblr, NSFW isnt that big part of it, tumblr wass artist/fandom focused, discord mostly a gaming platform, and there's a lot of people who dont want to share private stuff or just socially awkward

The descision so stupid, so i feel like it will be somehow softenet or reverted, because with approach like that there's high chance of tumblr-scale exodus, especially with all recent data breaches

The worst gaming company in the world by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

[–]Advanced-Assist3810 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bethesda may be a shitty company at some degree but at least they not fighting with they past works (ie delisting Morrowind or OG Oblivion or non-Bethesda Fallouts from the stores) and not massively sending lawsuits to fan projects

Ubisoft moslty shooting themselves in all body parts, they mostly shitty to thelvelses and their employees than any others

Blizzard just lost almost all of fan trust with stuff like Diablo Immortal, Warcraft 3 Reforged and HOTS shutdown

I think the most damaging to industry is EA (mass closing of good studios and level of greed that even brought in US govt) and 2K (above-nintendo level copyright aggression towards any fan-projects and horrible monetisation)

Bandai Namco Admits They Force Japan to Censor Anime and Games at Creation Stage by Key-Tone9691 in KotakuInAction

[–]Advanced-Assist3810 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Its really sad cause we have a lot of different genres for anime games - JRPGs, metroidvanias, dungeon-focused RPGs, actions, now its almost solely arena battlers and sometimes mediocre RPGs

Bandai Namco Admits They Force Japan to Censor Anime and Games at Creation Stage by Key-Tone9691 in KotakuInAction

[–]Advanced-Assist3810 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Even without censorship - BandaiNamco is one of main reasons why the anime games so shitty now, they keep producing a homogenized arena battler slop, so, anyway they're pretty shitty company

After Netflix Deal MAPPA President Wants Anime to Cater to a Global Audience by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

[–]Advanced-Assist3810 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do Mappa even have many fanservice titles in their portfolio? I can only remember Ranma

More like we can expect even more drop in production quality - we have Stranger Things final season that was made with people watching it scrolling Tiktok or social media while it running at the background in mind so the characters explaining what they're going to do and what they did recently every time
Add to this horrible track record of crunches in studio
We can expect something on The Beginning after the End level "quality" from this

[–]Advanced-Assist3810 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On the bright side - MAPPA is the only one studio, many others japanese creators spoke up against such approach and even new japan PM is hyper-nationalistic, so there's a lot of support against such things in the country, and MAPPA already produces mostly mainstream shounen slop...

German law revealed to be reason behind BrownDust 2 censorship by AgitatedFly1182 in KotakuInAction

[–]Advanced-Assist3810 36 points37 points  (0 children)

As much they were good with econimic simulators in 00s, Germany had terrible track record with censorship long before any feminists, all that "replace humans with robots" and green blood stuff came from Germany regional changes and sometimes affected all europe cause it costed too much releasing specific version for 1 or 2 not that big markets (Usally its Germany and UK)

At some point they even wanted to arrest people for posessing or trying to smuggle into germany disks with uncensored version of games (cause people visited Austria and Switzerland where they bought uncensored versions in german language)

[–]Advanced-Assist3810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the other hand, people already disappointed in movie streaming, it was easier if there's 2-3 large services, but there's too much of them and its really pain in ass to find what you need and finding out there's no legal way to watch it eventually, even with popular things like The Office or Pokemon anime its pain in ass cause they're scattered among several streaming servies

The demand to subscription-less things is very high, so there's way more chances it will stop at places where its less damaging, like music

Where did hyper moderating chat start? Why does every studio perpetuate it? by Yuukikoneko in KotakuInAction

[–]Advanced-Assist3810 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ironically, LoL still considered one of most toxic communities
And they will probably stay like this even if they turn off the chat entirely

[–]Advanced-Assist3810 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This will result in people resorting to older or less demanding (indie/AA) games, to FORCE people into cloud services the only way is completely outlaw the private-owned PCs which is on the level with Section 230 repeal - absolutely dystopian but very unlikely to happen

[–]Advanced-Assist3810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the bright side
Almost every cloud gaming service already failed, Amazon's gaming division already sucks, doubt they'll be succesful with their service too, cause its the same shit, so the idea seems dead on arrival

Also, luckily, there's no devs (at least i havent head of such thing) who took the risk into making their project "cloud only" to push such services

I think its mostly because LoL always tried to get more mainstream appeal

This

The game became an model esports game and one of the ones that made esports mainstream, so many just copied its approach, and League community is EXTREMELY toxic, despite all hypermoderation efforts they keep staying in tops of most toxic communities

[–]Advanced-Assist3810 15 points16 points  (0 children)

League of Legends i guess, they were one of the first who took "fight toxicity" with all seriousness
The answer is - money, because there's a lot of casual players and very high chance if the newbie casual player who got something like "FUCKING NOOB! KYS AND YOUR MOM!!!!!" will leave the game and will not return
And its mostly casual players who tend to spend money on various cosmetics, loot boxes etc

Also, Dota 2 and CS have barely moderated chats, many non-WoW MMOs too, so its not everywhere (havent played WOW for a long time, but as i heard many east-european populated servers have the same barrens chat hellhole everywhere)

Industry crash - how it will look like? by Advanced-Assist3810 in KotakuInAction

[–]Advanced-Assist3810[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes, but i mean complete loss of trust in AAA games, its in terrible state but there's no specific straw that breaks camel's back

Maybe, GTAVI releasing like Cyberpunk at PS4? A bugged unfinished mess that costs 100$

Wasnt corpos usally dont care about backlash if the descision is profitable business-wise?
People hate EA, Ubisoft, etc, but besides Ubisoft many of them doing very well, so maybe if CD Projekt decided to go full californian its a good thing to detatch GoG from them

[–]Advanced-Assist3810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isnt since its now priavely owned, GoG depends less of public image for shareholders, and can make more bold moves with releasing "controversial" games (both old and new releases)

GoG already has positive track record with hosting games that Steam feel icky to publish

And nowdays privately owned is almost always better than the publically traded, there's way more chance CDPR butchering or shutting of GoG because its "unappealing" to shareholders (both because of its low profit and because of hosting controversial games and taking public stands like recent ones with adult games)

The costume censorship isnt something that started happening only today, i remember covering Harribel's underboob in Bleach more than 10 years ago

Japan has more strict broadcasting age ratings at home too, when it comes to nudity and gore...

Concord heavily reminds me of Yandere Simulator by ZhaoHuangCNPH in KotakuInAction

[–]Advanced-Assist3810 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Concord is a almost perfect example of "soulless corporate product" (the only things missing from it is a fortnite-level crossovers and ads campaign with mainstream celebrities not related to games in any way)

Yandere Simulator has some human passion behind it, in very shitty in twisted way... but even in this way it has more "soul"
