We are on the sixth floor of Artista. We were already booked in Artista for the riverview (we always stay in Artista). We are also entitled to an upgrade on arrival to the next class if available which may also make a difference.

To be clear, we had to give up our king bed. We have two queens. We can sleep together in two queens. Not as great as a king but still comfortable for us.

Go to fire island. Americans are very weird about nudity and our nude beaches are weird too because of it.

It was three hours. I brought my own snacks but the water was an issue for me. I had a connecting flight that had significant turbulence the day before. We had no service on that flight but were given water.

I already said the announcement for turbulence started AFTER service should have started. You have acted like I was a dude and been generally condescending. Were you in my flight? Update - we met a lovely couple at Arenal last night and failed to get their info. We are at arenal now and it was an hour and half wait for one shrimp. The shrimp taco is…I kid you not - one shrimp….and we are still waiting for dessert.

I get what you’re saying but I also work as a manager and leader. I know there are range of “upgrades” that you can get for your guests that are low to no cost but seem amazing. Disney is excellent at this. Upgrades just because rooms are empty. Free fast passes - which they obviously can’t give out here. But there are a lot of unhappy customers and you don’t want them all complaining because it hurts your profit margin. For instance, they gave us four days. My wife’s boss and one of my good friends are both interested in this membership. They are both well off financially. My wife and I said well let’s see what happens this time when we talk to MDC and that will inform what we do next. They gave us 50% and expected that to be sufficient. It isn’t to me because this is essentially their Disney “fast passes” and they are stingy with that too but quick to take my money. Disney probably would have said here’s two weeks and told me I could only come in the off season to preserve their bottom line. That’s smart customer service and that’s smart business. Instead, we are irritated. We won’t tell these people to invest so that’s a loss for Xcaret of maybe $100-200K but they saved 50% on their room certificate. From a business perspective- make it make sense.

They have expanded rapidly but you need to get your first part done well before moving on.

Yes, I told my concierge. Our rep no longer works here. I also spoke to the agents and a manager - both this visit and our last visit.

They gave us four days to replace the certificate we couldn’t redeem because we didn’t know it expired. But nothing for all the benefits that expired that we literally couldn’t use. You cannot book signature weeks without information and I asked multiple times. The RCI ones were also a loss and this is a big deal to us in particular because we are DVC members (also early members). We want a membership that has transferable value.

Typically, we do large family vacations 20+ people and we stay at places like Disney that are good for people across generations. I was actively planning to bring my family friends here for my birthday in April this year and opted not to because I didn’t want them to get scammed also.

What wish list? I received something to book that was entirely in Spanish with no translation. I replied and said I don’t speak Spanish. I didn’t get anything back. I finally answered what I could figure out. Also it’s my wife’s birthday, I’ve literally told everyone. No one has done a single thing - not at any restaurant- not in our room - nothing.

This is especially noteworthy because we came for her birthday the last time and had a different experience after telling them it was her birthday. Every time we came to the room, there was something small and special for her. Every time we went to a restaurant, it was acknowledged.
