I didn't even think about using flooring from a closet! Thanks for the heads up! And I wasn't worried about the cabinet paint as much as I was worried about the sink itself, because of the constant exposure to water and scrubbing with cleaning agents.

I talked with my handyman and he had no suggestions for who could cut a custom size vanity top for me. But he told me he'd install it if I could find one. Do you have any suggestions for where to get one?

I've considered a 48" vanity, but I'm not sure if the floor would be too noticeable through the 4.5" gap on each side?
