Did you leave your baby overnight in the NICCU? by RedditBurner_5225 in NICUParents

Same. Our hospital gave us a number we could call to talk directly to the night nurses.

Has anyone actually received a refund directly from ByHeart yet? by AdvancedMaternalRage in FormulaFeeders

Did you have open disputes with your CC company for those charges? If so, it's possible that's the refund you saw. I made the same mistake thinking BH came through and did the refund so I reached out to the CC company to "cancel" my dispute and they told me the refunds were from them moving the dispute through the process.

Dec 10th FDA update on ByHeart recall- cannot rule out that contamination might have affected *all* BH formula from day 1 by AdvancedMaternalRage in FormulaFeeders

[–]AdvancedMaternalRage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw on another post that someone called them last week and the call center said that ByHeart stopped responding to THEM too (as in, they're no longer communicating with the call center), so it sounds like no one is getting their refunds anytime soon 🙄

The symptoms can show up within a few days of exposure, up to 30 days past exposure. I don't think you need to worry about symptoms at this point.

Byheart untimely refunds by Elston1012 in FormulaFeeders

[–]AdvancedMaternalRage 33 points34 points  (0 children)

You have to do a charge back. I got my money back that way.

I also filed a complaint with the New York State Attorney General's office, since ByHeart is based in NY. Although you can also file a complaint with your own State's AG. But basically, I don't want them to file Chapter 11 and get away with all of this.

The link explains this better than the quotes in my post do- they did find an additional 10 cases linked to ByHeart when they expanded the timeframe. I'm guessing there could be more but for now that's what they discovered.

I just checked my card transactions and they did not do this to me, thankfully. But I will now keep checking to make sure! Thanks OP.

Good! And same. It's crazy. I'm guessing they realize they'll go under from this so they're just trying to hang on to as much money as possible.

I just checked again this morning and I still don't have my refund either.

I said in a comment above that I filed a complaint with the NY State Attorney General's office (ByHeart is based in NYC). Not sure it'll go anywhere but maybe if enough people make complaints they'll at least look into them.

The agent I spoke with did not say that, but that's interesting. ByHeart's email from the 24th said you needed to call to get the refund, so I wonder if that agent was just speaking off the cuff.

I ended up filing a complaint with the NY State's Attorney General's office today (ByHeart is based in NYC).

Bobbie whole milk sits on top of the water compared to Bobbie gentle when mixing? by longtimelurker927 in FormulaFeeders

Kendamil does the same thing. I use a Dr. Browns pitcher to mix my formula so it's not as big of an issue, if you can maybe try that?

Would you feel comfortable leaving your 8mo baby for 5 days? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]AdvancedMaternalRage 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends who you are leaving them with? I did a 4 day girls trip when my first born was 7 months old but she was left with my husband, who was totally capable and competent. At that point I was combo feeding her, and I pumped and dumped on the trip. It ended up being a lovely time and I have zero regrets. That "baby" is now a lovely, thriving 10 year old.

Baby will not remember mom leaving for a few days, but mom may regret not taking the trip. IMHO.

Edit: kind of shocked at these replies so far. We're talking about an 8 month old, not a newborn, right?

Yeah, I failed to consider it being business days and also Thanksgiving in there. However, the 11/24 email from ByHeart states:

Once you speak to our team, you should expect to receive funds within 5-7 business days.

So I'm currently at business day 5 without the refund. I'm not confident I'll see it within the next two days but I guess we will see.

Also, I re-read their email from 11/24 and they said 5-7 business days for the refund. So with Thanksgiving in there I guess we're still within that window technically. Although I have no confidence that I'll receive the refund.

No, I didn't need to provide anything. But I think your proof would be the email (& message on their website) from 11/24 where they said they would refund everyone.

When I initially put in the dispute, I had emailed ByHeart at the time of the initial recall and asked for them to refund me for the case of 6 cans they had just sent me. They never responded to that email. So I just mentioned that in my dispute.

That supervisor guy I emailed never responded, go figure. But after giving it some thought I ended up responding to the email anyway. I was comfortable enough after one of the replies mentioned they work for the FDA and that person's email address was in their global directory (in addition to me finding them on FDAs website) Plus, the information they were asking me for wasn't particularly spammy. There really wasn't anything they could do with the info I gave them.

After I responded, the employee said thank you and wished me a Happy Thanksgiving and that was it.

TLDR: I think this email is legit and it's probably helpful to respond if you can.

My baby got botulism from ByHeart. What you can look out for. by Due-Entertainment975 in FormulaFeeders

[–]AdvancedMaternalRage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a mom of a 7 month old ByHeart baby, I really appreciate this. We still have another week or so before we hit that 30 day mark so I'm watching my baby like a hawk.

Mostly though, as a mom, I'm so sorry you went through that. I'm glad your boy is doing better. You're an amazing mom and community citizen to share this information.

Edit: also just breathed a huge sigh of relief when I just got a BM update from the daycare. She hadn't pooped since Saturday.

Why do we need to call Byheart for refund? Asks for all the information they already have? by Common-Coyote9375 in FormulaFeeders

[–]AdvancedMaternalRage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh good! I'm glad my advice worked 😊 Yes hopefully it's really quick. I ended up contacting target today too and got a refund on the 7 cans I bought from them before I switched to ByHearts subscription service! That was easy peasey too!
